E-3 Visa UX Product Designer Jobs
UX Product Designer roles qualify for E-3 visa sponsorship as specialty occupations requiring a relevant bachelor's degree. Australian designers bring strong portfolios and research skills that U.S. tech and product teams actively recruit for, and the E-3's no-lottery structure means your timeline depends on your offer, not a random draw.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a UX Product Designer
Frame your portfolio for U.S. specialty occupation
Your portfolio needs to demonstrate that a degree in design, HCI, or a related field is the standard entry point for the role. Highlight systems-level UX work and research methodologies that signal specialty occupation, not just visual output.
Target product companies with LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data for employers who have filed LCAs for UX or product design roles. A prior LCA filing confirms the employer understands E-3 sponsorship mechanics and has done it before.
Clarify the LCA timeline before accepting an offer
The E-3 process begins with a DOL Labor Condition Application, which the employer must certify before your consulate appointment. Confirm your prospective employer knows this step comes first and factor the certification window into your start date negotiation.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for your paperwork
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This avoids the coordination errors that arise when employers and applicants manage separate parts of the process independently.
Address your three-year degree proactively
Australian bachelor's degrees are three years, not four. Consular officers evaluate these as equivalent under USCIS specialty occupation standards, but you should have a credential evaluation or employer acknowledgment ready to avoid delays at the interview.
Prepare a clear degree-to-role connection document
E-3 approval depends on your degree field matching the role. If your degree is in a related but not identical field, such as cognitive science or industrial design, prepare a written explanation connecting your coursework to your UX responsibilities before your consulate appointment.

Find UX Product Designer JobsUX Product Designer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find UX Product Designer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists UX Product Designer roles where employers are open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not cold-applying to companies unfamiliar with the visa. Filtering by E-3-ready employers saves significant time, since the bigger barrier is often employer awareness of the process rather than your qualifications or eligibility.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a UX Product Designer role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, UX Product Designer roles generally qualify because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as human-computer interaction, graphic design, or a related discipline. The key is demonstrating that the position requires that specific theoretical and practical knowledge, not just general design experience. Generic or hybrid roles titled 'designer' that accept any degree field can face more scrutiny.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for UX Product Designer roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual numerical cap that creates waitlists, so you can apply as soon as you have a job offer and a certified LCA. The H-1B has an oversubscribed lottery that leaves most applicants unselected each year. For Australian UX designers, the E-3 means your start date depends on consulate scheduling, not lottery outcomes.
Can I switch UX Product Designer jobs while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA and a new E-3 visa or an amended status. You cannot simply transfer the visa between employers. If you're already in the U.S., your new employer needs to file before your current E-3 expires. Consular processing at an Australian consulate is an option if your status lapses during the transition.
