Who We Are
Serval is an AI-native automation platform transforming how enterprises operate. We build intelligent agents that understand real-world workflows and execute them end-to-end — replacing manual processes and rigid legacy systems with adaptive, learning software. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume, high-friction operational work across their organizations.
At the core of Serval is an agentic AI platform that turns natural language into production-grade workflows. Our agents don’t just respond to requests — they reason, take action across systems, and continuously improve with usage. What began with operational use cases has quickly evolved into a horizontal AI automation layer used across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering.
Our mission is to eliminate repetitive, manual work across the enterprise and give teams leverage through intelligent automation. Long term, we’re building the universal AI operations layer — a system of agents that sits across business functions and runs the workflows that keep modern companies moving.
We’re backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and others, and founded by product and engineering leaders from Verkada.
Role Overview
As a Senior Motion Designer, you’ll lead the creative vision and hands-on execution of motion across product and brand, bringing ideas to life through compelling 2D and 3D animation across UI/UX experiences, marketing campaigns, brand storytelling, social content, promos, and more. You’ll drive projects end-to-end — from concept, storyboarding, and styleframes to animatics and final delivery — while establishing scalable motion systems, templates, and guidelines that ensure consistency across teams. Collaborating closely with product designers, engineers, and marketing partners, you’ll craft motion that enhances user experience and strengthens brand identity, managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while upholding high creative and technical standards.
- Lead the creation of high-quality motion graphics, animations, and graphic video content across a variety of media: product UI/UX, marketing campaigns, brand storytelling, social content, promos, trailers, and more.
- Work hands-on — from storyboarding and styleframes to animatics and final motion design delivery. You’ll bring ideas to life, using both 2D and 3D techniques.
- Establish, evolve, and maintain motion design guidelines, templates, and toolkits that can scale across different teams and projects. (e.g. for product UI, brand campaigns, social, etc.)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product designers, UI/UX teams, engineers, marketing, and other creatives to ensure motion supports both user experience and brand objectives.
- Manage multiple projects — scoping, scheduling, and delivering motion work on time, while maintaining high creative and technical standards.
- 7+ years of professional experience in motion graphics and animation work. This should include both product-facing and campaign/marketing work.
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of expressive motion design work: brand storytelling, marketing/campaign content, product UI/UX animations, social/digital content, etc.
- Deep understanding of animation fundamentals: timing, spacing, anticipation, composition, visual rhythm, and design sensibility.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard tools: e.g., Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and preferably experience in Figma, Cinema 4D, or Blender.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; respond to feedback; iterate quickly; and manage multiple deliverables under deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing or maintaining motion systems / design toolkits / templates for scalability across projects.
- Background in both motion for product (UI/UX) and motion for brand/marketing/advertising.
- Graphic design fluency. Comfortable with layout, hierarchy, and type sufficient to build and adapt visual assets directly. Just as importantly, good instincts for when motion adds clarity or emotion, and when a well-composed still is the stronger choice.
- Comfort working across 2D and 3D motion, and familiarity with compositing, post-production, and optimization for different platforms (web, mobile, social, broadcast, etc.)
- Experience mentoring or leading a small team of designers/animators, providing creative guidance and reviewing work.
What We Offer
- Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.
- Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company.
- Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.
Compensation Range: $150K - $250K

Frame your reel for U.S. specialty occupation standards
Your portfolio needs to demonstrate degree-level creative direction, not just execution. Highlight projects where your motion design decisions required specialized knowledge, since consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree in the field.
Target employers with dedicated motion design functions
In-house creative teams at tech companies, streaming platforms, and broadcast networks file LCAs for motion designers far more regularly than generalist agencies. Roles with clear specialty occupation titles, Senior Motion Designer, Motion Graphics Lead, process more smoothly than hybrid or catch-all creative titles.
Negotiate LCA filing before accepting an offer
Ask your prospective employer to initiate the Labor Condition Application with DOL before you resign from your current role. LCA certification typically takes seven business days, and your E-3 visa interview can't be scheduled until certification is complete.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
From LCA preparation through consulate appointment, the paperwork has specific requirements that catch employers off guard. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages every step end-to-end so neither you nor your employer loses time to avoidable errors.
Verify your Australian degree maps to U.S. equivalency
A three-year Australian bachelor's in design or animation is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 purposes. If your degree title is non-standard or your work experience substitutes for formal education, prepare a credential evaluation before your consular interview.
Distinguish your role clearly if you work across disciplines
Senior motion designers who also do UI, 3D, or brand work can face scrutiny over whether the role requires a specialized degree. Get your employer to write a support letter that ties your day-to-day responsibilities specifically to motion design, not a broader creative or production function.
E-3 Visa Senior Motion Designer: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Senior Motion Designer jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the U.S. You can filter Senior Motion Designer positions by employers who have filed LCAs before, which signals genuine sponsorship willingness. General job boards don't surface E-3 sponsorship history, so searching without that filter means a lot of outreach to companies unfamiliar with the visa.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Senior Motion Designer role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in motion design, animation, film, or a closely related field. The consular officer reviews the job duties and your employer's support letter to confirm the role isn't one that a non-degree holder could perform. Vague creative titles with broad responsibilities are more likely to draw questions than clearly defined senior design roles.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for a Senior Motion Designer?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no annual lottery, no cap backlog, and can be applied for directly at a U.S. consulate in Australia without waiting for a USCIS petition approval. H-1B visa requires entering a random lottery with a roughly 25% selection rate. For a qualified Australian motion designer with a job offer, the E-3 is a far more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I switch employers on an E-3 if I take a new Senior Motion Designer role?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp reflecting the new employer and role before re-entering the U.S. if your current stamp has expired. If you're already inside the U.S., your new employer can start the LCA process while you continue working for your current employer up until the transition date.
