Frame your Australian credentials for U.S. hiring
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in finance or economics is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa specialty occupation purposes. Pair it with a credential evaluation letter before applying to roles that list degree requirements.
Target employers with active DOL filing history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for analyst roles. Employers already familiar with LCA certification move faster once they decide to extend an offer.
Clarify E-3 mechanics before the offer stage
Many hiring managers confuse the E-3 with H-1B visa and assume a lottery is involved. Explaining that E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery removes a common objection early in the process, before they involve legal or HR teams.
Confirm your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
Revenue Analyst positions that require specific analytical or financial modeling skills typically satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Make sure the job description references a required degree field, not just a preferred one, since 'preferred' language can complicate the LCA certification.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have a job offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This covers DOL certification, the DS-160, and consulate preparation, so your employer doesn't need to engage a separate immigration law firm.
Request the LCA before your consulate appointment
Your employer must receive a certified LCA from DOL before you can attend your visa interview. Build at least seven to ten business days into your timeline for DOL processing, and factor in consulate appointment availability at Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.
E-3 Visa Revenue Analyst: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Revenue Analyst jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility so you're only seeing positions where the employer is open to the visa. Searching general job boards returns results that rarely indicate whether a company has experience with E-3 or is willing to file the required LCA.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Revenue Analyst role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as finance, economics, accounting, or statistics. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation status based on the job duties and degree requirement, not the title alone. A role listed as requiring 'any business degree' rather than a specific discipline can create complications during LCA certification, so the job description wording matters.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Revenue Analyst roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply at any point in the year once you have a job offer. H-1B registration opens once per year in March with a randomized lottery, meaning you could wait over a year for a slot. For Revenue Analyst roles where the employer is willing to sponsor, the E-3 is a significantly faster path to starting work in the U.S.
What documents do I need to bring to my E-3 visa interview?
You'll need your valid Australian passport, the DS-160 confirmation page, the certified LCA from DOL, a support letter from your employer outlining your role and salary, evidence of your educational qualifications, and your visa interview appointment confirmation. Consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth may request additional documentation, so confirm the current checklist with the U.S. Embassy before your appointment.
