Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Security And Compliance
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
ASIO, ASD, or APRA compliance experience doesn't map automatically to U.S. frameworks like NIST, SOC 2, or HIPAA. Explicitly list U.S.-equivalent certifications you hold, such as CISSP or CISA, and reframe your Australian regulatory work in terms of U.S. standards.
Target companies with active federal contract work
Federal contractors and FedRAMP-authorized cloud providers routinely sponsor security and compliance professionals because cleared or compliance-ready candidates are scarce. These employers already understand visa processes and are more likely to initiate E-3 sponsorship for qualified specialists.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate for security and compliance roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship history. Employers who have previously filed LCAs for these roles are your strongest leads, cutting out the uncertainty of approaching companies that have never sponsored before.
Clarify E-3 specialty occupation status before your offer
Not every security or compliance job title automatically qualifies as a specialty occupation. Confirm the role requires a degree in a specific field, not just any bachelor's degree, before investing time in negotiations. A job description stating 'degree preferred' rather than 'required' can disqualify the position.
Ask the employer to file your LCA before you resign
Your employer files the Labor Condition Application with DOL before you can apply for your E-3 visa. DOL certifies LCAs within seven working days in most cases, so request this step starts immediately after your written offer is signed to avoid delays in your start date.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Security and compliance roles often involve detailed job duty descriptions that must align precisely with your degree field in the LCA. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages this documentation end-to-end, from LCA preparation through consulate appointment, reducing the risk of a specialty occupation challenge.

Find Security And Compliance JobsSecurity And Compliance E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find security and compliance jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for security and compliance roles where employers have an E-3 sponsorship history. Filtering by sponsorship track record is more reliable than cold-approaching companies, since employers who have filed LCAs for compliance or information security roles before already understand the process and are less likely to withdraw an offer when sponsorship details arise.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Do security and compliance roles qualify as E-3 specialty occupations?
Most do, but the job description matters. Roles like information security analyst, GRC analyst, and compliance manager typically qualify because they require a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as computer science, information systems, or a related discipline. Generalist titles where any degree is acceptable are more likely to face scrutiny, so the offer letter and LCA description need to specify the degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for security and compliance professionals?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, so you can apply and receive visa approval any time of year without waiting for an April selection window. H-1B applicants compete in a lottery with roughly a 25 percent selection rate in recent years. For Australian nationals in security and compliance, the E-3 is the straightforward path, assuming the role meets specialty occupation requirements, which these positions typically do.
Can I switch security and compliance employers while on an E-3?
Yes, but your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you travel internationally before starting. If you're changing jobs without leaving the U.S., you can begin working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and the new employer has the documentation in order. There's no grace period built into the E-3 itself, so coordinating your end date and start date carefully matters.
