Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Speech Language Pathology
Verify your ASHA credentials before applying
U.S. employers expect Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) eligibility or equivalency. Confirm your Australian qualifications map to ASHA standards before reaching out to hiring managers, or you risk stalling at the credential review stage.
Target school districts and hospital systems
Public school districts and hospital systems are among the most consistent E-3 sponsors for SLPs. Both are familiar with specialty occupation filings and often have HR teams experienced in DOL Labor Condition Application requirements.
Search verified E-3 sponsors using Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find speech language pathology roles posted by employers who have sponsored E-3 visas before. Filtering by verified sponsorship history saves time and surfaces realistic opportunities faster than broad job searches.
Clarify state licensure requirements with each employer
Every U.S. state issues its own SLP license, and requirements vary. Some employers will sponsor your E-3 before licensure is granted, but others won't extend an offer until you hold a valid in-state license. Confirm this upfront.
Ask your employer to file the LCA early
The DOL Labor Condition Application must be certified before your visa application can proceed. Employers sometimes underestimate this lead time. Request LCA filing as soon as your offer letter is signed to avoid delays at the consulate.
Consolidate your filing with a dedicated service
Managing LCA certification, DS-160 preparation, and consulate documentation across multiple parties creates gaps. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles the entire process end-to-end, reducing the risk of errors that delay your start date.

Find Speech Language Pathology JobsSpeech Language Pathology E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find speech language pathology jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search for SLP roles where employers are already open to E-3 sponsorship. Because the E-3 requires a specific Labor Condition Application tied to the role, finding employers familiar with the process matters. Migrate Mate filters opportunities by verified sponsorship history, so you're not starting from scratch with every application.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does speech language pathology qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes. Speech language pathology requires at minimum a master's degree in most U.S. clinical settings, which clearly satisfies the specialty occupation requirement under E-3 rules. USCIS looks for a direct relationship between your degree field and the job duties, and SLP roles meet that standard consistently across healthcare, school, and private practice settings.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian SLPs?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens and has no lottery, no annual cap exhaustion risk, and a straightforward two-year renewable structure. H-1B selection is random and capped at 85,000 per year, meaning qualified SLPs can be rejected simply due to the lottery draw. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is the more predictable and reliable path.
Can a U.S. employer sponsor my E-3 visa before I have a state SLP license?
Some employers will proceed with E-3 sponsorship before your state license is issued, particularly in states with provisional licensing arrangements, but this varies by employer and state. You'll need to confirm the employer's policy before accepting an offer. The DOL Labor Condition Application can be filed while your license application is pending in many cases, but your start date may be contingent on licensure approval.
