You'll guide the AWS PrivateLink team (an XXL business serving our largest customers) and VPC Lattice team (developing innovative solutions with CEO visibility) to unify these services into a seamless connectivity platform.
We value empathy alongside technical excellence. Our teams embrace a builder's mentality—delivering scrappy yet scalable solutions while ensuring our people love what they do. Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Sr Software Development Manager
Translate your Australian credentials before applying
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before your first interview to avoid delays when your employer files the LCA.
Target employers with active LCA filing histories
Search DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway disclosure data for companies that have certified LCAs for software development manager roles. Employers with recent filings already understand the E-3 process, which significantly reduces the internal education burden during your offer stage.
Clarify the specialty occupation standard for your role
Sr Software Development Manager positions blend technical and managerial duties. Make sure your job description explicitly ties the managerial scope to engineering outcomes and specifies a degree requirement in a directly related field. Vague job descriptions are one of the most common LCA complications for this title.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after your offer
Once you have a signed offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork end-to-end. This removes the burden from your new employer's HR team and avoids the weeks of back-and-forth that can delay your start date.
Confirm your employer's prevailing wage compliance early
The LCA requires your employer to certify your salary meets DOL's prevailing wage for the role and location. Ask your recruiter to confirm this before you negotiate your offer, since the certified wage on the LCA becomes a floor that can't be adjusted downward after filing.
Prepare your dual intent position before your consulate interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so officers assess whether you intend to return to Australia. For senior roles, officers may probe your long-term plans more carefully. Bring documentation of your ongoing Australian ties and be ready to articulate your intent without contradicting the employment terms in your offer letter.

Find Sr Software Development Manager JobsSr Software Development Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Sr Software Development Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. Rather than filtering generic job boards by hand, Migrate Mate surfaces Sr Software Development Manager positions at employers who are already set up to support the E-3 process, so you spend less time on cold outreach and more time on qualified opportunities.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Sr Software Development Manager role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the job description requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as computer science, software engineering, or information systems. The specialty occupation standard requires that the degree be a normal minimum for entry into the role. Generalist management descriptions that don't tie the position to a specific technical discipline can create problems at the LCA stage, so the job offer wording matters.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Sr Software Development Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap, so you can apply any time of year and your start date isn't tied to the H-1B's April lottery cycle. It renews indefinitely in two-year increments as long as you hold a qualifying job. The H-1B requires employer sponsorship through a competitive lottery with roughly a 25% selection rate, and an unsuccessful lottery means waiting another year. For Australians, the E-3 is structurally more predictable for senior roles where timing and continuity matter.
Can I change employers after starting on an E-3 as a Sr Software Development Manager?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so each new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need a new visa stamp if you've traveled internationally. You can start working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and you have a valid E-3 at that employer, but there's no portability provision equivalent to H-1B's AC21 rule. Plan your transition timeline to allow for LCA processing and, if needed, a consulate appointment.
