Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Tower Technician
Document your degree equivalency early
Australian three-year engineering or telecommunications degrees are generally accepted as U.S. bachelor's equivalents, but your employer's LCA filing depends on that equivalency being clear. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before you start applying.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Tower Technician roles are filed under DOL's specialty occupation framework. Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for employers who have certified LCAs for tower or telecommunications technician positions, then prioritise outreach to those companies.
Clarify specialty occupation fit before accepting an offer
Not every tower technician posting will qualify as a specialty occupation. Roles requiring a specific engineering or telecommunications degree are strong candidates; generic maintenance roles that accept any background are not. Confirm the job description explicitly requires a bachelor's degree before negotiating.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, the LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment can proceed. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing delays your start date.
Prepare your Australian safety certifications for U.S. equivalency review
ACRA, rigging licences, and Working at Heights certifications earned in Australia may need to be cross-referenced against U.S. OSHA standards. Some employers require documentation confirming equivalency before they'll proceed with E-3 sponsorship for tower roles.
Time your consulate appointment around project cycles
Tower Technician work is often project-based, and delays between your offer letter and visa approval can push your start date into a different contract cycle. Build at least six to eight weeks between offer acceptance and planned start date to account for consulate scheduling.

Find Tower Technician JobsTower Technician E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Tower Technician jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search Tower Technician roles filtered specifically for E-3 visa sponsorship, so you're not sifting through listings where the employer has no history of sponsoring Australian workers. The platform surfaces roles from employers already familiar with the E-3 process, which shortens the time between application and offer.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Tower Technician role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined. A Tower Technician position that requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a closely related field qualifies as a specialty occupation. Roles where the employer accepts any degree or no degree at all will not meet the E-3 standard. Reviewing the job description for degree specificity before applying is essential.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Tower Technician roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian nationals, but it has no annual cap and no lottery, which means you can apply at any time of year and receive a decision without waiting for a selection round. The H-1B is subject to an annual cap and a randomised lottery, so most applicants must wait until the following fiscal year after registration. For Australians, the E-3 is a more predictable path.
Can I switch Tower Technician employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but the process restarts with the new employer. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need an updated visa stamp reflecting the new position before re-entering the U.S., or you can apply for a change of status if you're already inside the country. You cannot begin work for the new employer until the new LCA is certified.
