Tips for Your Education And Training Job Search
Tailor your resume to delivery format
Hiring managers in education and training distinguish between classroom instruction, virtual facilitation, and asynchronous course design. Specify which formats you've used and name the platforms, whether that's an LMS, video conferencing tool, or authoring software like Articulate or Canvas.
Quantify learner outcomes, not just activities
Listing that you 'delivered training' is weak. Employers want to see what changed: completion rates, assessment scores, time-to-proficiency, or post-training performance metrics. Pull those numbers from your records before you apply and build them into your bullet points.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists education and training openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Filter by sector before you search
Corporate L&D, K-12, community college, and government training roles each have different credential expectations and pay structures. Decide which sector matches your background first, then target openings in that space rather than applying broadly across all of them.
Prepare a sample lesson or training artifact
Many education and training interviews include a teach-back or design exercise. Have a short lesson plan, a slide deck, or a course outline ready that reflects the audience type the employer serves, whether that's adult learners, new employees, or students at a specific grade level.
Ask about evaluation methods during interviews
Asking how the organization currently measures training effectiveness signals that you think beyond delivery. It also gives you information to negotiate with: if they lack a measurement framework, you can position your ability to build one as part of your value in the role.
Education And Training Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most education and trainings?
The companies hiring the most education and trainings right now include IDEA Public Schools, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and Education for Change, with the largest share of openings in Texas, California, and Massachusetts, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is especially concentrated in corporate L&D departments and large school districts actively expanding instructional staff.
How many education and training jobs are remote?
About 11% of education and training openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with remote availability highest in instructional design, e-learning development, and virtual facilitation roles. In-person requirements remain the norm for classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and roles tied to a specific campus or facility.
How do you become a education and training?
Start by earning a degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, or a closely related field. Build practical experience through student teaching, corporate training internships, or volunteer facilitation. Develop proficiency with at least one learning management system and one course authoring tool. Earning a professional credential such as an ATD certification strengthens your candidacy, particularly for corporate roles.
How do you get hired in education and training with little experience?
Focus on roles that value subject matter expertise over formal teaching experience, such as corporate onboarding specialist or workforce development coordinator positions. Volunteer to lead workshops, create training materials for a community organization, or build a sample course to demonstrate your instructional approach. Entry-level coordinator and program assistant roles are common starting points that lead to full instructional positions.
What does the education and training interview process look like?
Most education and training interviews begin with a phone or video screen covering your background and experience with specific learner populations. A panel interview with hiring managers, department leads, or a curriculum committee typically follows. Many employers include a practical component, such as a live teach-back, a lesson plan review, or a design scenario, before extending an offer.
Where can I find and apply to education and training jobs?
You can find and apply to education and training jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your background, specialization, and preferred work setting, then apply directly to each one that fits.
