SUMMARY
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all aspects of industrial/manufacturing equipment and machinery. Including electrical and electronic system. Knowledge of Electrical distribution systems for voltage below 600V. Knowledge of NEC, UL508A and NFPA 79 codes specific to industrial manufacturing equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspect and test machinery and equipment as required to ensure proper function daily.
- Troubleshoot machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with operators or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Work with other team members and departments to review functions of machines and equipment to facilitate repairs and maintenance.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Replaces and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Mastery of reading blueprints, electrical or hydraulic schematics and other technical materials.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Experience in programming and troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs in 208-480V industrial production machinery.
- Work with 0-600 VAC and 0-1000 VDC, single phase and three phase.
- Troubleshoot PLC’s: Idec, Allen-Bradley, Omron, Siemens, etc.
- Familiarity with serial communications preferred as we have a quantity of legacy equipment using RS232 and RS485.
- Installs or repairs automated machinery and equipment components as needed.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and light fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Research and specify replacement components for equipment and systems as needed or assigned.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Logs time and materials allocations to ensure accurate records.
- Responsible for adherence to the policies, procedures and instructions of the TS 16949, MMOG/LE and ISO 14001 systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school in maintenance or related field and 6 years technical experience in industrial maintenance position or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment and can demonstrate a mastery of at least two (2) of the essential maintenance skills. Demonstrate ability to provide leadership and organizational skills to the department in absence of supervision.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Able to follow both written and verbal instruction.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
