This position has a target start date of Summer 2027.
- As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will be assigned to work on a project team in our Energy & Industrial Group business unit and assist the engineering team members in the execution of their project work. These projects may involve the design of new or modifications and upgrades to systems and components in a variety of facilities:
- New and / or existing Power Plants
- Industrial Facilities
- Oil & Gas upstream production
- Gas transmission and distribution
- Renewable projects
- Carbon-capture projects
- Working under the direction of senior engineers, this position will offer you the opportunity to utilize and expand your academic background in Mechanical Engineering in one or more of the following areas:
- Assist in the development of system designs
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings
- Assist in the preparation of technical specifications, evaluation of bid packages, and review of vendor drawings associated with the procurement of major industrial energy equipment and related installation services.
- Work on a variety of tasks associated with project reporting, such as tracking and evaluating project activities, project progress, and associated data.

Essential skills and experience:
- Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineer.
- Strong academic background and coursework in mechanical systems analysis (thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer)
- Good verbal and written communication skills along with strong PC skills are required.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions and meet deadlines.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program.
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
- Prior, related internship or co-op experience.
- An understanding of the practical application of mechanical engineering principles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience within campus and/or the community.
