Entry Level Energy Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level energy job?
Focus on internships, co-ops, or project-based coursework that show hands-on exposure to energy systems, equipment, or data. Employers at this level look for candidates who understand industry fundamentals, hold a relevant degree or certificate, and can demonstrate safety awareness. Tailoring your resume to the specific sector, whether utilities, renewables, or oil and gas, gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire entry level energys?
Companies hiring entry level energys right now include ICF, Resource Innovations, and Tesla, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring covers large utilities and independent power producers as well as engineering firms and government contractors that routinely bring on junior talent to support field, operations, and technical roles.
Are there remote entry level energy jobs?
Yes, though most entry level energy roles are on-site or field-based given the hands-on nature of the work. About 34% of entry level energy openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to concentrate in data analysis, energy policy, software, and project coordination rather than operations or field engineering.
Are these new grad energy jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles across the energy sector. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward that requirement, or accepts a strong portfolio or academic project in place of professional history. Look for language like "entry level," "new graduates welcome," or "0-2 years" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level energys?
Entry Level energy roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Energy, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the junior level because ongoing infrastructure investment, regulatory compliance demands, and the energy transition are all creating steady openings for candidates who are earlier in their careers.
