Job Summary/Basic Function
NOTE: This position can be filled at any level of the approved career ladder based on candidate qualifications.
The Energy Manager will provide managerial and technical oversight for the Utilities Staff in the Energy and Sustainability Office. The incumbent in this position provides expertise in energy resource management to ensure identification, life cycle cost analysis, design, implementation and/or construction of energy saving and sustainability initiatives in order to meet University goals and objectives for energy management, carbon neutrality, and sustainability.
Required Qualifications
Field related Bachelor’s Degree
2 years of experience in facilities management or energy management
Preferred Qualifications
Two years supervisory experience
Four years experience performing data analysis and cost accounting
* Working knowledge of design and construction practices, inspection, code compliance, and scheduling and estimation software

Physical Requirements of this position Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Visual Acuity Requirements including color, depth perception and field of vision. Required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; using a computer terminal; extensive reading.
The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. The worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia. The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
