The Problem Management Automation and Reliability Engineering - Senior Technology Operations Consultant works inside Problem Management with a primary focus on reducing toil. The role does double duty. You work live Problem Management alongside the Problem Managers, investigating recurring problems, contributing to root cause analysis and post-incident reviews, and helping drive corrective actions to closure. You also find the repetitive, rules-based steps in that work and replace them with automation. Because you do the work yourself, you know which steps cost the most time and which are worth fixing first. The engineering side is hands-on. The consultant applies SRE practices to remove manual effort from Problem Management by writing scripts, engineering applications, and design possible ServiceNow workflows. The consultant also builds ServiceNow dashboards that show recurring failure patterns, corrective action status, and control effectiveness to technology leaders. Success is measured in hours of manual effort removed, shorter cycle time from incident to root cause, and better data quality in Problem records.
The role works with Problem Management, Incident Management, Major Incident Management, Event Management, and the technology towers that own production services. The best fit is someone with a network, cloud, server, or infrastructure troubleshooting background who has already turned that experience into scripts, automation, and dashboards. Solutions must be secure, auditable, and supportable in a regulated financial institution.

Engineering Jobs in Greensboro: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering job in Greensboro?
The strongest path into Greensboro engineering is through its manufacturing and industrial base, which includes automotive parts suppliers, aerospace components firms, and consumer goods producers concentrated near Greensboro's industrial parks and the Piedmont Triad International Airport area. Candidates with hands-on experience in process, mechanical, or industrial engineering tend to move fastest. Knowing local employer names and applying directly to plant and facility operations roles gives you a real edge over generic applications.
Which companies hire engineerings in Greensboro?
Employers hiring engineerings in Greensboro right now include Skyworks Solutions, Truist, and Vontier, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Greensboro's mix of large manufacturers, defense contractors, and growing logistics and life sciences operations means there are openings across both corporate engineering departments and plant-floor technical roles.
Are there remote engineering jobs in Greensboro?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the discipline, since hands-on manufacturing and site-based roles require physical presence while systems, software, and data-focused engineering work is far more remote-compatible. About 67% of engineering openings tied to Greensboro are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, with most of those concentrated in controls, software, and quality assurance functions rather than production or facilities roles.
How can I get a engineering job in Greensboro with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Greensboro is applying for technician, engineer-in-training, or junior process engineer roles at the city's manufacturing plants and distribution facilities, many of which recruit directly from North Carolina A&T State University and Guilford Technical Community College. Co-op and intern pipelines at Greensboro's industrial employers regularly convert to full-time hires. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and any plant-floor exposure, even from coursework, stands out with local hiring managers.
