Standard Job Description
WHAT WE’RE DOING
At Lockheed Martin, we're revolutionizing the aerospace and defense sector through groundbreaking technology, advanced manufacturing processes, and a world-class team of professionals. Our mission-driven approach and unwavering dedication to excellence ensure that we continue to deliver superior products and solutions to our customers around the world.
THE WORK
As a Manufacturing Engineering Associate Manager, you'll lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers (MEs) within Production Operations supporting our Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) facility in Orlando, FL. Your organization develops and implements the manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts that build our products across assembly, additive, and machine shop operations — along with a focus on our F-35, ACS, and RMS programs — and drives the adoption of new technologies like automation, AI implementation, and computer-aided manufacturing to make our factories faster, leaner, and higher quality. You'll help modernize and accelerate the TLS factories and the way they run.
- Set and drive the strategy and vision for your team, aligning day-to-day execution with the broader goals of Production Operations and the factory modernization effort
- Lead and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers — including a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor and their team — responsible for process development, equipment installation, build sequencing, and production layout across assembly, additive, and machine shop operations
- Coach, mentor, and grow your engineers and supervisor, supporting their development and setting them up to succeed
- Drive the adoption of new manufacturing technologies — automation, AI implementation, CAM software, and 3D model-based data and digital work instructions — to optimize how we build
- Partner upstream with Design Engineering early in the product lifecycle, providing manufacturing input on design concepts and specification requirements so our products are built right the first time
- Champion operational excellence: evaluate equipment and tooling performance, investigate problems and deficiencies, and drive corrective action to keep production running
- Use factory data and analytics to find opportunities and fuel continuous improvement
- Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to identify, implement, and sustain improvements
- Keep stakeholders and your team aligned on key process improvement efforts through clear, consistent communication
WHO YOU ARE
You are a strong leader who can guide and develop your team, can rally your team and others around objectives, and can drive efforts to successful completion. You possess a passion for continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to reduce waste, improve human factors, and introduce technology to affect change. You are a talented team member who understands data, and you love to use data to surface problems and create solutions.
WHO WE ARE
Our customers are world-wide and so is our reputation for creating innovative solutions with the latest technologies. Our products keep our customers safe and bring them home to
their families at night. We provide the resources, inspiration, and focus - if you have the resourcefulness and perseverance to work hard, then we want to create a better tomorrow
with you.

Engineering Senior Manager Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering senior manager job in Orlando?
Focus your search on Orlando's defense and aerospace contractors near the UCF Research Park, the healthcare technology employers anchored around Lake Nona, and the large-scale engineering operations run by the theme park and hospitality industry on the southwest side of the city. Candidates who combine P&L ownership experience with cross-functional team leadership in any of these sectors move to the top of shortlists fastest in this market.
Which companies hire engineering senior managers in Orlando?
Orlando engineering senior manager roles are posted by Lockheed Martin, LandDesign, and L3Harris and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. The local market is shaped by a mix of large defense primes, regional hospital systems, and the engineering-intensive operations of Orlando's entertainment and hospitality industry.
Are there remote engineering senior manager jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though with limits, engineering senior manager roles that involve hands-on teams, site inspections, or facilities oversight are almost always on-site, while roles focused on program management, systems architecture, or digital engineering lean more remote-friendly. About 42% of engineering senior manager openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at technology and defense employers in the UCF Research Park corridor.
How can I get a engineering senior manager job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic path in Orlando is moving up through a project or program engineer role at one of the defense or aerospace contractors near the UCF Research Park, where structured advancement tracks exist and internal promotions to senior manager are common. Entry-level candidates who build experience leading small cross-functional engineering teams, even informally, then pursue roles at mid-size Orlando firms in simulation, medical devices, or infrastructure stand the best chance of stepping into a senior manager seat within a few years.
Which industries hire the most engineering senior managers in Orlando?
Orlando engineering senior manager roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Media & Entertainment, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's position as a hub for defense simulation, aerospace systems, and the engineering backbone of its theme park and hospitality industry creates sustained demand for senior engineering leadership across all of those sectors.
