Experienced Project Manager Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a experienced project manager in Arizona?
Becoming an experienced project manager in Arizona typically requires a relevant bachelor's degree combined with several years of progressively responsible project work and the Project Management Professional certification issued by the Project Management Institute. Arizona has no state-issued license for project managers, but PMP certification is the de facto professional credential that Arizona employers across construction, defense, and technology treat as the primary qualifier for senior roles.
How much do experienced project managers make in Arizona?
Experienced project managers in Arizona earn a median of about $99,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,050 for the lowest 10% to over $161,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire experienced project managers in Arizona?
Employers hiring experienced project managers in Arizona right now include Boeing, R.E. Darling, and EMERY SAPP & SONS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's concentration of defense primes, large hospital networks, and major technology operations means demand for experienced project managers stays active across multiple industries throughout the year.
Which Arizona cities have the most experienced project manager jobs?
Arizona, Tucson, and Phoenix account for the largest share of experienced project manager openings in Arizona. Phoenix dominates the distribution because it is home to major corporate headquarters, large healthcare systems, and a dense construction market, while Scottsdale's technology and financial services firms and Tempe's university-adjacent innovation corridor add significant volume beyond the city center.
Are there remote experienced project manager jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than many fields. Project management is largely a coordination and communication role that translates well to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 100% of experienced project manager openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have adopted flexible work for this function. IT and software delivery project managers see the highest share of fully remote postings, while construction and facilities project managers are almost always required on-site.
How can I get hired as a experienced project manager in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a coordinator or analyst role within your current industry into a junior project manager or associate project manager position. Large Arizona employers like Banner Health, Intel, and Arizona Public Service hire project coordinators and PMO analysts as structured entry points. Completing a Google Project Management Certificate or beginning a PMP education requirement through Arizona State University's project management programs signals commitment and gives hiring managers a concrete reason to consider candidates without a full project history.
Where can I find and apply to experienced project manager jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to experienced project manager jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
