Operations Project Manager Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations project manager in Arizona?
Most operations project manager roles in Arizona require a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, engineering, or a related field, plus demonstrated project leadership experience. Arizona does not require a state-issued license for this role, but earning a PMP credential through the Project Management Institute strengthens your candidacy significantly with Arizona's aerospace, healthcare, and semiconductor employers. Many hiring managers in Phoenix and Tucson treat the PMP as a practical differentiator when screening candidates.
How much do operations project managers make in Arizona?
Operations project managers in Arizona earn a median of about $99,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,050 for the lowest 10% to over $161,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations project managers in Arizona?
Employers hiring operations project managers in Arizona right now include DoorDash, ASM, and Sundt, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's concentration of defense contractors, large health systems, and semiconductor manufacturers means demand for this role stays consistent year-round rather than spiking seasonally.
Which Arizona cities have the most operations project manager jobs?
The cities with the most operations project manager openings in Arizona are Phoenix, Mesa, and Tempe. Phoenix dominates because it is home to the state's largest corporate headquarters, healthcare networks, and logistics hubs, while Scottsdale draws professional services and technology operations roles, and Tucson's volume reflects its established defense and university-affiliated medical operations.
Are there remote operations project manager jobs in Arizona?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the industry. About 20% of operations project manager openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how mixed this role's setting can be. Strategic planning, vendor coordination, and reporting functions are the most likely to run remotely, while roles tied to manufacturing floors, distribution centers, or hospital operations typically require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a operations project manager in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an operations coordinator or project coordinator role at a large Arizona employer and building hands-on project experience from there. Employers like Banner Health, Honeywell, and Intel run associate program and rotational operations roles that bring in candidates from adjacent backgrounds such as supply chain analyst, administrative operations specialist, or quality assurance coordinator. Earning a CAPM credential through the Project Management Institute before applying signals readiness and gives less-experienced candidates a concrete edge in competitive Phoenix and Tucson applicant pools.
Where can I find and apply to operations project manager jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to operations project manager jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings across industries including aerospace, healthcare, semiconductor manufacturing, and logistics. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
