Operations Project Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations project manager in Georgia?
A bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or industrial engineering is the standard starting point for operations project manager roles in Georgia. No state-issued license is required, but employers across Atlanta and Savannah consistently expect or strongly prefer the Project Management Professional credential from the Project Management Institute. Building experience in logistics, manufacturing, or healthcare operations within Georgia's dominant industries accelerates hiring significantly.
How much do operations project managers make in Georgia?
Operations project managers in Georgia earn a median of about $102,140 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,290 for the lowest 10% to over $163,320 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire operations project managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring operations project managers in Georgia right now include Tesla Laboratories, Akima, and Veritiv, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's concentration of logistics hubs, defense contractors, and financial services firms means steady, recurring demand rather than seasonal spikes.
Which Georgia cities have the most operations project manager jobs?
Atlanta, Norcross, and Evans have the most operations project manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates by volume due to its density of corporate headquarters, technology firms, and distribution centers, while Savannah's role as one of the busiest container ports on the East Coast drives consistent demand, and Alpharetta draws openings from its growing cluster of fintech and IT services companies.
Are there remote operations project manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, and more than many operations roles allow. About 33% of operations project manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the planning, reporting, and stakeholder coordination in this role can be handled off-site. Project phases tied to physical facilities, warehouse oversight, or vendor walkthroughs typically still require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a operations project manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a coordinator or analyst role inside operations, logistics, or manufacturing at a large Georgia employer. Companies like UPS and Delta Air Lines run rotational operations programs where candidates without direct project management titles gain hands-on exposure. Pursuing a Certified Associate in Project Management credential before applying strengthens a resume immediately, and targeting process improvement or junior PMO roles at Atlanta-area distribution centers or Savannah port logistics firms is a concrete starting point.
Where can I find and apply to operations project manager jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to operations project manager jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to the employers posting them.
