Construction Project Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a construction project manager in Georgia?
Most construction project managers in Georgia start with a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or architecture, then gain field experience as a project engineer or superintendent. Georgia does not require a state-issued license specifically for construction project managers, but the state does license general contractors through the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors. Earning a PMP through the Project Management Institute or a CCM through the American Institute of Constructors strengthens candidacy with Georgia employers significantly.
How much do construction project managers make in Georgia?
Construction project managers in Georgia earn a median of about $110,810 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,300 for the lowest 10% to over $180,750 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire construction project managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring construction project managers in Georgia right now include Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, Hoar, and Burns & McDonnell, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's mix of large general contractors, state agency capital programs, and industrial developers means openings appear across both private firms and public-sector clients regularly.
Which Georgia cities have the most construction project manager jobs?
Atlanta, Savannah, and Kennesaw have the most construction project manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share through its commercial real estate, healthcare, and transit expansion activity, while Savannah's deepwater port growth and Augusta's medical district and Fort Eisenhower-related development sustain consistent demand outside the metro core.
Are there remote construction project manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Construction project management is fundamentally a site-presence role, so fully remote positions make up a small share of the market. About 39% of construction project manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to involve preconstruction, estimating, or program oversight functions rather than active site management.
How can I get hired as a construction project manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a project engineer or assistant project manager role with a Georgia general contractor. Firms like Brasfield and Gorrie and Holder Construction run structured associate programs that recruit recent graduates from Georgia Tech, Georgia Southern, and Kennesaw State's construction management programs. An OSHA 10 or 30 certification and hands-on internship experience signal field readiness, and moving laterally from estimating or scheduling support roles is a common internal path to a full project manager title.
Where can I find and apply to construction project manager jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to construction project manager jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Georgia employers. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty and apply directly to the ones that match.
