Field Marketing Specialist Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field marketing specialist in Rhode Island?
Field marketing specialists in Rhode Island are not required to hold a state-issued license, but employers consistently expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business. The most direct path is completing a four-year program at a Rhode Island institution, then building hands-on experience through internships with local consumer brands or healthcare companies. Familiarity with regional event logistics and CRM tools strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
How much do field marketing specialists make in Rhode Island?
Field marketing specialists in Rhode Island earn a median of about $86,240 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,020 for the lowest 10% to over $129,540 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field marketing specialists in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring field marketing specialists in Rhode Island right now include Gilbane, CVS Health, and Teknor Apex Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's mix of established insurance carriers, consumer goods manufacturers, and regional healthcare networks means field marketing demand is spread across several distinct industries.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most field marketing specialist jobs?
Providence, Smithfield, and Pawtucket account for the largest share of field marketing specialist openings in Rhode Island. Providence draws the most postings as the state's commercial and corporate hub, while Warwick and Cranston benefit from their proximity to major retail corridors and the corporate campuses of large insurers and healthcare organizations headquartered in those communities.
Are there remote field marketing specialist jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, but they're rare. Field marketing is inherently an on-the-ground role, built around in-person activations, retail visits, and local event management, so most positions require regular presence in the field. About 25% of field marketing specialist openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to cover strategy, reporting, and campaign planning rather than execution.
How can I get hired as a field marketing specialist in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a marketing coordinator or brand ambassador role with a Rhode Island-based consumer goods company or regional healthcare network, where hands-on event and activation work is part of the job from day one. Employers like Hasbro and Amica Mutual periodically bring on early-career marketing associates who rotate through field functions. A portfolio of campus events, volunteer campaigns, or internship activations gives candidates a concrete edge over applicants with only coursework.
