Building hands-on experience through internships or coordinator roles at California consumer brands or technology companies is the most direct path.
How much do field marketing specialists make in California?
Field marketing specialists in California earn a median of about $94,700 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,440 for the lowest 10% to over $181,600 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field marketing specialists in California?
Employers hiring field marketing specialists in California right now include Boston Scientific, Illumina, and Acceldata, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's density of technology headquarters, consumer packaged goods brands, and life sciences companies makes it one of the most consistent states for ongoing field marketing hiring.
Which California cities have the most field marketing specialist jobs?

San Francisco leads because of its concentration of enterprise technology and SaaS companies that rely heavily on regional field teams, while Los Angeles draws demand from entertainment, consumer goods, and retail brands, and San Diego reflects strong life sciences and defense-sector marketing activity.
