The Maids of San Diego is looking for a motivated, organized, and tech-savvy Junior Sales Associate to support our growing commercial business.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, or early-career candidate who wants practical experience in sales, business development, marketing, and business operations.
No extensive sales experience is required. We're looking for someone who is comfortable talking to people, learns technology quickly, follows through, and is interested in using new tools—including AI—to work smarter and help grow a business.
What You'll Do
- Call and follow up with new and existing sales leads.
- Ask basic qualifying questions and schedule appointments.
- Keep our CRM accurate with notes, lead status, and follow-up tasks.
- Help prepare quotes and proposals using our established process.
- Assist with general sales and administrative tasks as needed.
- Support marketing activities, including simple social media posts and content.
- Use AI tools to help create, improve, and repurpose marketing content and support sales activities.
- Help organize customer, sales, and marketing information.
A meaningful part of this role involves making phone calls and following up with prospects, so you should be comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations.
Who We're Looking For
- Tech-savvy and quick to learn new software, apps, CRM systems, and digital tools.
- Comfortable using or interested in learning AI tools such as ChatGPT and other AI-powered marketing/productivity tools.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, email, calendars, and social media.
- Confident, friendly, and professional on the phone.
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to follow a process and work independently after training.
- Curious, resourceful, and interested in learning how technology and AI can improve sales and marketing.
Prior experience experimenting with AI is preferred but not required. This can include school projects, internships, freelance work, personal projects, social media/content creation, or simply using AI tools to solve real problems. We care more about what you've tried and learned than having formal AI credentials.
What You'll Gain
You'll get hands-on experience working with real prospects and customers while learning how leads move from initial contact to appointments, quotes, and new business.
You'll also gain practical experience with CRM systems, AI tools, marketing, sales, and the day-to-day operations of a growing local business.
Schedule
Part-time, weekday mornings. This may be a great fit for a college student with afternoon or evening classes. Exact hours can be discussed based on availability.

Sales Business Development Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales business development in California?
Most sales business development roles in California require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though no state-issued license applies to the role itself. California employers, particularly in tech and SaaS, value demonstrated pipeline experience, so candidates typically build their record through inside sales, sales development representative, or account coordinator roles before moving into full business development positions.
How much do sales business developments make in California?
Sales business developments in California earn a median of about $76,490 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,200 for the lowest 10% to over $152,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales business developments in California?
Employers hiring sales business developments in California right now include Tangram Interiors, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Blackmon Mooring & BMSCAT, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters and life sciences companies means these employers typically seek candidates with experience selling complex solutions to enterprise or mid-market accounts.
Which California cities have the most sales business development jobs?
San Diego, Los Angeles, and California have the most sales business development openings in California. San Francisco leads because of its dense cluster of SaaS and enterprise software headquarters, Los Angeles draws volume from its media, tech, and startup sectors, and San Diego's life sciences and defense technology employers anchor hiring in that metro.
Are there remote sales business development jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 39% of sales business development openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's heavy reliance on digital outreach, CRM tools, and virtual demos. Strategic account management and partnership development roles tend to have the greatest flexibility, while field sales and territory management roles typically remain on-site or travel-based.
How can I get hired as a sales business development in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an SDR or inside sales role at a California technology or SaaS company, where structured training programs from employers like Salesforce and Oracle prepare candidates for business development tracks. Building fluency in a CRM platform and completing a recognized sales methodology certification strengthens any application, as does targeting associate business development or sales coordinator roles at California-based startups that grow talent from within.
Where can I find and apply to sales business development jobs in California?
You can find and apply to sales business development jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across technology, SaaS, life sciences, and other key sectors. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly from each listing.
