Sales Business Development Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales business development in Texas?
Most Texas employers hire sales business development professionals with a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though no state-issued license is required for the role. Candidates build their path through internships or inside sales roles, developing skills in prospecting, CRM management, and consultative selling. Industry-recognized certifications such as HubSpot Sales Software or Salesforce Administrator credentials are commonly listed in Texas job postings and give candidates a competitive edge.
How much do sales business developments make in Texas?
Sales business developments in Texas earn a median of about $65,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,380 for the lowest 10% to over $137,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales business developments in Texas?
Employers hiring sales business developments in Texas right now include Shamrock Trading Corporation, ProSource Wholesale, and Sinclair Broadcast, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, energy firms, and fast-growing technology companies means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than dominated by a single sector.
Which Texas cities have the most sales business development jobs?
Houston, Dallas, and Plano have the most sales business development openings in Texas. Houston's energy and healthcare sectors drive substantial commercial hiring, Dallas's financial services and corporate headquarters create high demand for enterprise sales professionals, and Austin's thriving technology and SaaS ecosystem generates consistent openings for business development roles at both startups and established software companies.
Are there remote sales business development jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 58% of sales business development openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's reliance on phone, video, and digital outreach rather than fixed on-site work. Strategic and inside-focused positions, such as inbound lead development and account management for software products, tend to be the most consistently remote-eligible.
How can I get hired as a sales business development in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a sales development representative or business development representative role, which Texas technology and SaaS companies in Austin and Dallas hire at volume and train from the ground up. Large Texas employers such as Dell Technologies and AT&T run structured sales rotational and associate programs for recent graduates. Earning a CRM certification, building a prospecting portfolio through campus or volunteer projects, and transitioning from customer success or account coordinator roles are the most common lateral moves that open the door.
Where can I find and apply to sales business development jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to sales business development jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Search by city or specialty to narrow results, then apply directly to the roles that fit your experience and target industry.
