Sales Business Development Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales business development in Florida?
Most sales business development roles in Florida require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers prioritize demonstrated sales results over degree type. Florida does not issue a state license specifically for sales business development professionals outside regulated industries such as real estate or insurance, which require separate Florida licensure. Building a portfolio of closed deals, relevant certifications such as HubSpot Sales or Salesforce credentials, and industry knowledge in Florida's dominant sectors like technology, healthcare, and logistics will strengthen any application.
How much do sales business developments make in Florida?
Sales business developments in Florida earn a median of about $62,490 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,780 for the lowest 10% to over $127,960 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales business developments in Florida?
Employers hiring sales business developments in Florida right now include ProSource Wholesale, First Onsite, and Inovalon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large concentrations of technology firms, healthcare networks, and logistics companies ensure consistent year-round demand across the state.
Which Florida cities have the most sales business development jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Miami have the most sales business development openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its dense concentration of multinational corporations, financial services firms, and Latin American trade businesses, while Tampa's growing tech and healthcare sectors fuel demand there, and Orlando's tourism, hospitality, and convention industries create steady pipeline for enterprise and partnership development roles.
Are there remote sales business development jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, because business development work is relationship- and communication-driven rather than tied to a physical site. About 43% of sales business development openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many employers value talent regardless of daily office presence. Account management, inside sales, and partner development functions tend to be the most remote-eligible within the discipline.
How can I get hired as a sales business development in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a sales development representative or inside sales role, which large Florida employers in technology and healthcare staffing regularly hire for without requiring prior business development experience. Companies like Ryder, AutoNation, and Florida-based SaaS firms often run structured sales training programs for recent graduates. Pursuing a Salesforce Administrator or HubSpot Sales certification before applying gives candidates a measurable edge. Lateral moves from customer success, account management, or marketing coordinator roles are also a common route into business development in Florida.
Where can I find and apply to sales business development jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to sales business development jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings, find roles that fit your background and target market, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
