CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates the design and delivery of the most effective, efficient, and impactful methods and channels to ensure accomplishment of business goals.
- Identifies situational and strategic communication opportunities and outlines plans to address them.
- Detects appropriate metrics and evaluates program effectiveness to report to senior leaders.
- Leads development of media strategies to raise visibility.
- Helps run online communications and social media outreach for the organization.
- Keeps abreast of new trends and research in online marketing and social networking.
- Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
- Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
- Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
- Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
- Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions
- Oversee aspects of broadcast productions
- Serve in building and managing the broadcast department to support marketing efforts for the Athletics Department
- Assists with the developing year-round video broadcast plan
- Assists with the marketing department to create first-class broadcast experiences
- Work with ESPN, Neulion and other broadcasters in regard to all streams/broadcasts
- Oversight of video production full time staff, freelance and student workers/interns
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail; strong organizational and planning skills
- Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with departmental, University, conference and NCAA procedures, rules and regulations
- Work evenings, weekends and travel as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Department Specific Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated video production/broadcast
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing a broadcast team of full-time and freelance workers
- Experience with vizrt products/solutions preferred
- A portfolio (on DVD or web link) that shows the ability to take a project from start to finish
- Ability to work independently
