Sales Director Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales director in Florida?
Most Florida employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field combined with several years of progressive sales experience, ideally within Florida's dominant industries such as healthcare, technology, or financial services. Sales directors in Florida do not require a state-issued license for most industries, though roles in real estate sales leadership require an active Florida real estate license issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
How much do sales directors make in Florida?
Sales directors in Florida earn a median of about $131,900 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,650 for the lowest 10% to over $263,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales directors in Florida?
Employers hiring sales directors in Florida right now include StoneX Group, Marriott International, and Jobot, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of healthcare systems, technology companies, and financial services firms means demand for sales directors remains consistent across the state's major metro areas throughout the year.
Which Florida cities have the most sales director jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Orlando account for the most sales director openings in Florida, reflecting the concentration of corporate headquarters, regional offices, and large employer campuses in those markets. Miami drives demand through its financial services and international business sectors, Tampa through its growing technology and healthcare base, and Orlando through its hospitality, tourism, and healthcare industries.
Are there remote sales director jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than many senior roles, since sales directors focused on national or enterprise accounts can manage teams and pipelines without being on-site daily. About 47% of sales director openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, making it a realistic option for experienced candidates. The most remote-friendly segments are enterprise software, SaaS, and financial products sales, while roles tied to local territory management or retail operations typically require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a sales director in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to move into a sales director role from an account executive or senior sales representative position at a Florida-based company, demonstrating team leadership and quota achievement before applying for director-level openings. Large Florida employers in healthcare such as AdventHealth and HCA Florida, and technology firms based in Tampa and Miami, regularly promote from within their sales organizations. Building experience managing a small team or a named territory and obtaining a Salesforce certification or similar credential strengthens a candidacy significantly.
Where can I find and apply to sales director jobs in Florida?
