Area Sales Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a area sales manager in Florida?
Most area sales managers in Florida start in individual contributor sales roles and earn promotion by consistently exceeding quota. Florida does not require a state-issued license to work as an area sales manager in most industries, though roles in financial products, insurance, or real estate may require a Florida-issued license through the Department of Financial Services or the Florida Real Estate Commission. A bachelor's degree in business or marketing strengthens most candidacies, and internal promotions from senior sales rep or account executive roles are the most common path.
How much do area sales managers make in Florida?
Area sales managers in Florida earn a median of about $131,900 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,650 for the lowest 10% to over $263,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire area sales managers in Florida?
Employers hiring area sales managers in Florida right now include Enhabit Home Health & Hospice, Syngenta, and Channel Partners, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of large metropolitan markets, retirement communities, and a significant hospitality and healthcare sector means demand for area sales managers is spread across a wide range of industries throughout the state.
Which Florida cities have the most area sales manager jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville concentrate the most area sales manager openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its international business corridor, financial services sector, and healthcare industry, while Tampa's corporate headquarters density and Orlando's hospitality, tech, and healthcare growth sustain strong demand, and any smaller or suburban markets in the list typically reflect a major distribution hub or regional employer anchor.
Are there remote area sales manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Area sales manager roles are fundamentally field-oriented, requiring regular in-person visits to clients and direct reports across a territory. About 70% of area sales manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions are most often limited to the planning, reporting, and internal coordination portions of the role rather than the core sales management work.
How can I get hired as a area sales manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is securing a quota-carrying individual contributor role first, ideally with a Florida employer known for promoting from within, such as a regional distributor, healthcare device company, or large consumer goods organization. Entry-level account representative and territory sales roles at companies like Sysco or Genuine Parts Company in Florida are common starting points. Earning a professional sales certification, building a measurable revenue record in a related role like account coordinator or inside sales, and expressing management interest early with your hiring manager accelerates the timeline considerably.
Where can I find and apply to area sales manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to area sales manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and hiring regions. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
