Event Marketing Specialist Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a event marketing specialist in Florida?
Most Florida employers require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management, or hospitality as the foundation for this role. There is no state-issued license for event marketing specialists in Florida, so the hiring path centers on building a portfolio of planned events, internships with Florida hospitality or entertainment companies, and credentials such as the Certified Meeting Professional designation, which many Florida employers recognize as a mark of professional readiness.
How much do event marketing specialists make in Florida?
Event marketing specialists in Florida earn a median of about $75,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $38,830 for the lowest 10% to over $130,570 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire event marketing specialists in Florida?
Employers hiring event marketing specialists in Florida right now include Vacatia, SPF Screens & Awnings, and Lotus House, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's deep concentration of hospitality groups, entertainment venues, and destination management companies means the hiring pool is unusually broad compared to most states.
Which Florida cities have the most event marketing specialist jobs?
Miami, Weston, and Orlando have the most event marketing specialist openings in Florida. Miami's concentration of international brands, luxury hospitality, and Latin American corporate events drives its volume, Orlando's theme park and convention economy supports a steady base of event roles, and Tampa's growing corporate headquarters and sports entertainment sector adds consistent demand across all experience levels.
Are there remote event marketing specialist jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely digital marketing roles, since event marketing frequently requires on-site coordination, venue walkthroughs, and vendor management in person. About 38% of event marketing specialist openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and the portions most suited to remote work are campaign strategy, content production, and post-event reporting rather than day-of execution.
How can I get hired as a event marketing specialist in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an event coordinator or marketing assistant role with a Florida hospitality group, convention center, or sports franchise, where you gain hands-on production experience quickly. Large Florida employers such as convention authorities, destination management organizations, and regional hotel groups regularly hire entry-level coordinators. A portfolio of volunteer or internship events, combined with a Certified Meeting Professional candidacy or a digital marketing certification, gives candidates a concrete edge when applying without a full professional history.
Where can I find and apply to event marketing specialist jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to event marketing specialist jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and other markets statewide. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty and apply directly to the employers posting them.
