Event Marketing Specialist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an event marketing specialist in Texas?
Most event marketing specialist roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or advertising. No state-issued license is required for this role in Texas. Employers typically look for hands-on experience through internships, campus event planning, or coordination roles, along with demonstrated proficiency in project management and marketing tools. Earning credentials like the Certified Meeting Professional designation can strengthen your candidacy with larger Texas corporate employers.
How much do event marketing specialists make in Texas?
Event marketing specialists in Texas earn a median of about $72,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $37,640 for the lowest 10% to over $135,710 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire event marketing specialists in Texas?
Employers hiring event marketing specialists in Texas right now include Abbott, Copart, and Ionian Technologies, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in Dallas-Fort Worth and major energy and healthcare firms in Houston means corporate event marketing teams here tend to be large and hire with regularity.
Which Texas cities have the most event marketing specialist jobs?
Austin, Carrollton, and Dallas have the most event marketing specialist openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and a major convention center economy, Houston follows given its energy sector events and medical conference activity, and Austin's fast-growing technology and creative industries drive consistent demand for experiential and brand-focused event roles.
Are there remote event marketing specialist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're limited. Event marketing is heavily execution-driven, meaning on-site presence for activations, trade shows, and vendor coordination is a core expectation for most roles. About 17% of event marketing specialist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with flexibility most common in the strategic planning, content, and campaign coordination portions of the role rather than in live event execution.
How can I get hired as an event marketing specialist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a marketing coordinator or events assistant role at a Texas convention center, hotel group, or large corporate marketing department. Companies like HEB, Texas Instruments, and major Dallas-Fort Worth agencies regularly hire entry-level events support staff. Building a portfolio from college event committees, nonprofit fundraisers, or volunteer conference work is treated as legitimate experience. Completing a Certified Meeting Professional preparatory course also signals seriousness to hiring managers at larger Texas employers.
Where can I find and apply to event marketing specialist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to event marketing specialist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, and beyond. Find roles that fit your experience level and specialization and apply directly to the employers posting them.
