Marketing Director Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing director in Florida?
Becoming a marketing director in Florida requires a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or communications as a baseline, with most employers preferring a master's degree or MBA for director-level roles. Florida does not require a state-issued license for marketing directors. The typical path moves through coordinator, manager, and senior manager roles within Florida's dominant industries, such as tourism, healthcare, or financial services, before reaching director level. Building a portfolio of campaign results and P&L ownership accelerates the progression significantly.
How much do marketing directors make in Florida?
Marketing directors in Florida earn a median of about $142,620 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,250 for the lowest 10% to over $261,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing directors in Florida?
Employers hiring marketing directors in Florida right now include Hard Rock International, Visa, and MDVIP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large healthcare systems, hospitality groups, and financial services firms are among the most consistent sources of director-level marketing openings in the state.
Which Florida cities have the most marketing director jobs?
Miami, Boca Raton, and Tampa account for the most marketing director openings in Florida, reflecting the concentration of major corporate headquarters, regional offices, and large healthcare and hospitality employers in those metro areas. Miami's role as a gateway for Latin American business adds an additional layer of demand for marketing directors with multilingual and international brand experience.
Are there remote marketing director jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 44% of marketing director openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and digital nature of the role. Strategy, content, and digital performance functions are the most frequently offered as remote, while roles requiring in-person agency management or event oversight tend to be on-site.
How can I get hired as a marketing director in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a marketing coordinator or specialist role at a Florida employer in a high-volume marketing environment, such as a large health system like HCA Florida or a hospitality company like Universal Destinations and Experiences. From there, lateral moves into brand management or digital analytics accelerate the path. Earning a Google Analytics certification or a HubSpot credential adds early credibility, and contributing to measurable campaign results, even in a supporting role, is what Florida hiring managers cite most often when evaluating candidates without a director title.
Where can I find and apply to marketing director jobs in Florida?
