Senior Field Marketing Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior field marketing manager in California?
The typical path starts with a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or business, followed by several years in a field, regional, or demand generation marketing role. California employers, particularly in enterprise software and life sciences, strongly favor candidates who have worked alongside quota-carrying sales teams. There is no state-issued license for this role in California, but experience with regional pipeline programs and marketing automation platforms is consistently required before advancing to a senior level.
How much do senior field marketing managers make in California?
Senior field marketing managers in California earn a median of about $193,620 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $104,370 for the lowest 10% to over $326,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior field marketing managers in California?
Employers hiring senior field marketing managers in California right now include Lam Research, Glean Technologies, and Ahead, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of enterprise technology and life sciences headquarters means many of these openings support large regional sales organizations across the Bay Area and Southern California.
Which California cities have the most senior field marketing manager jobs?
San Francisco, Fremont, and Los Angeles have the most senior field marketing manager openings in California. The Bay Area leads because of its density of enterprise software and cloud technology headquarters, while Los Angeles draws openings from consumer brands, media companies, and healthcare organizations, and San Diego's strength in biotech and defense technology supports a steady share of regional marketing roles.
Are there remote senior field marketing manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than many marketing specializations, though a meaningful portion of roles still require regional travel to support sales teams and in-person events. About 67% of senior field marketing manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based planning and campaign execution side of the role. Strategy, reporting, and campaign management work is most commonly done remotely, while event execution and sales alignment meetings often require presence in the field.
How can I get hired as a senior field marketing manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or demand generation specialist role at a mid-size or enterprise California technology or life sciences company, where you can gain direct exposure to pipeline programs and sales alignment. Large Bay Area employers regularly post associate field marketing and marketing programs roles that are structured to develop candidates without senior experience. Building hands-on skills with platforms like Marketo or Salesforce and putting together a portfolio of campaign results, even from smaller programs, signals readiness for a senior title far more than credentials alone in California's field marketing market.
Where can I find and apply to senior field marketing manager jobs in California?
You can find and apply to senior field marketing manager jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across enterprise technology, life sciences, consumer goods, and more. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
