Cloud sales engineer roles in California do not require a state-issued license or registration. The typical path starts with a technical degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems, followed by hands-on experience in a cloud or IT role such as solutions architect, systems engineer, or technical account manager. Earning a cloud platform certification from AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure significantly strengthens a California application, as most enterprise employers list certifications among their preferred qualifications.
How much do cloud sales engineers make in California?
Cloud sales engineers in California earn a median of about $139,160 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,850 for the lowest 10% to over $213,370 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire cloud sales engineers in California?
