Cloud Sales Engineer Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a cloud sales engineer in Texas?
Cloud sales engineering in Texas has no state-issued license, so the path runs through technical education and cloud credentials. Most Texas employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems paired with a vendor certification from AWS, Microsoft, or Google. Starting in a technical support, inside sales, or junior solutions consultant role at a Texas-based technology company or managed service provider gives you the hands-on experience needed to move into a full cloud sales engineer position.
How much do cloud sales engineers make in Texas?
Cloud sales engineers in Texas earn a median of about $130,610 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $78,730 for the lowest 10% to over $201,850 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire cloud sales engineers in Texas?
Employers hiring cloud sales engineers in Texas right now include JPMorganChase, Apple, and Amazon Web Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth corridor and large enterprise technology campuses in Austin and Houston means demand from both global vendors and regional systems integrators remains consistently strong.
Which Texas cities have the most cloud sales engineer jobs?
Austin, Plano, and Houston account for the greatest concentration of cloud sales engineer openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth drives the largest share due to its dense cluster of corporate headquarters and regional offices for major cloud vendors, while Austin's technology corridor attracts software-first companies, and Houston's energy and industrial sectors generate steady demand for cloud infrastructure sales talent supporting digital transformation programs.
Are there remote cloud sales engineer jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 70% of cloud sales engineer openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting that much of the role centers on virtual product demonstrations, online discovery calls, and video-based stakeholder presentations. The parts of the role most suited to remote work are technical pre-sales and proof-of-concept support, while enterprise account management often requires periodic on-site travel within Texas.
How can I get hired as a cloud sales engineer in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a technical sales development representative or associate solutions consultant role at a Texas-based cloud vendor or managed service provider, where structured onboarding programs teach both the technology and the sales motion. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and IBM run rotational and new-graduate programs that place candidates into pre-sales tracks. Earning an AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification before applying gives you a measurable edge over candidates without hands-on cloud exposure.
Where can I find and apply to cloud sales engineer jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to cloud sales engineer jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across the state's major hiring markets. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and preferred location, and apply directly to each employer without creating a profile or signing up.
