Sales Development Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development manager in Texas?
The most direct path is to build a few years of experience as a sales development representative or inside sales rep at a Texas company, then move into a team lead role before stepping up to manager. Texas has no state-issued license or exam for this role. Employers in Austin, Dallas, and Houston typically look for a bachelor's degree alongside a clear record of quota attainment and some experience mentoring or onboarding junior reps.
How much do sales development managers make in Texas?
Sales development managers in Texas earn a median of about $136,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $68,750 for the lowest 10% to over $268,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development managers in Texas?
Employers hiring sales development managers in Texas right now include Molex, Rippling, and Bank of America, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of enterprise software, fintech, and energy technology companies means demand is spread across both large corporate headquarters and fast-growing regional offices, particularly in the Austin and Dallas corridors.
Which Texas cities have the most sales development manager jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Dallas have the most sales development manager openings in Texas. Austin leads because of its dense technology sector and the regional headquarters that anchor it, Dallas draws volume from its financial services and telecom industries, and Houston adds demand from energy technology and healthcare IT companies that rely heavily on outbound sales teams.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and they are fairly common for a management role, since sales development work is largely phone, email, and video-based. About 28% of sales development manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the day-to-day work happens through digital tools. Fully remote openings tend to be concentrated in the individual contributor coaching and pipeline strategy parts of the role rather than in positions that require in-office team presence.
How can I get hired as a sales development manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is landing an SDR or business development representative role first, then building a case for promotion internally. Large Texas tech employers like Dell, IBM, and Oracle run structured SDR programs in Austin, Round Rock, and Dallas that are designed to move high performers into team lead and manager tracks within a couple of years. Earning a Salesforce Administrator certification or completing a sales management course through a Texas community college or university extension program can strengthen an application for a first manager role.
Where can I find and apply to sales development manager jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to sales development manager jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Texas employers. Find roles that match your experience level and location preference and apply directly to the ones that fit.
