Sales Development Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development manager in New York?
Most sales development managers in New York move into the role after several years as a high-performing sales development representative or account executive. No state-issued license is required. New York employers typically expect a bachelor's degree, direct SDR experience within a quota-carrying environment, and familiarity with the enterprise sales cycles common in the city's technology and financial services sectors. Demonstrating leadership over an SDR team, even informally, accelerates the path considerably.
How much do sales development managers make in New York?
Sales development managers in New York earn a median of about $217,640 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $107,670 for the lowest 10% to over $378,910 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development managers in New York?
Employers hiring sales development managers in New York right now include Rippling, W.B. Mason Company, and Ramp, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's concentration of enterprise software, fintech, and media firms means demand for this role stays consistent across both large corporations and growth-stage companies headquartered in Manhattan and the surrounding metro.
Which New York cities have the most sales development manager jobs?
New York, Albany, and Buffalo account for the most sales development manager openings in New York. New York City dominates because of its density of financial services headquarters, enterprise technology firms, and media companies, while White Plains and other suburban metro areas reflect the presence of regional corporate offices that run their own inside sales operations.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than many field-based sales roles. About 55% of sales development manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of outbound pipeline work. The parts of the role most commonly performed remotely include prospecting, CRM management, and team coaching calls, while in-person expectations tend to apply to onboarding and larger sales kickoffs.
How can I get hired as a sales development manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to join a New York company as an individual-contributor sales development representative first, then pursue internal promotion. Large New York employers in fintech and enterprise SaaS, including firms based in the Flatiron and Hudson Yards tech corridors, regularly run structured SDR programs designed to develop team leads from within. Earning a Salesforce Administrator credential or a HubSpot sales certification gives candidates without formal management experience a measurable edge in competitive applicant pools.
Where can I find and apply to sales development manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to sales development manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
