Insurance Sales Consultant Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a insurance sales consultant in New York?
You become an insurance sales consultant in New York by obtaining a New York State insurance producer license through the Department of Financial Services. The path requires completing pre-licensing education for your chosen line of authority, passing the New York state licensing exam, and submitting a license application. Most employers expect at least a high school diploma, though a bachelor's degree in business or finance strengthens your candidacy at larger carriers and brokerages.
Which companies hire insurance sales consultants in New York?
New York insurance sales consultant roles are posted by EY, Logic, and Aon and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New York's density of Fortune 500 headquarters and major financial institutions means both national carriers and regional independent agencies are consistently active hiring markets across the state.
Which New York cities have the most insurance sales consultant jobs?
New York, Utica, and Plainview have the most insurance sales consultant openings in New York right now. New York City dominates hiring due to its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and large commercial accounts, while Buffalo and Albany support steady demand through regional carriers, independent agencies, and the public-sector employee benefits market anchored by state government.
