Sales Development Manager Jobs in Ohio: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales development manager in Ohio?
Most sales development managers in Ohio start in an individual-contributor SDR or BDR role and move into management after consistently hitting pipeline targets. Ohio does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers typically look for a bachelor's degree, experience with CRM platforms, and a record of leading or mentoring junior reps. Completing a recognized sales certification such as Sandler or SPIN Selling can strengthen a candidacy.
How much do sales development managers make in Ohio?
Sales development managers in Ohio earn a median of about $135,510 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,190 for the lowest 10% to over $251,110 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales development managers in Ohio?
Employers hiring sales development managers in Ohio right now include Axle, FedEx, and CURSOR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Ohio's concentration of insurance carriers, financial institutions, and SaaS companies headquartered in Columbus and Cincinnati means demand for SDM leadership remains steady throughout the year.
Which Ohio cities have the most sales development manager jobs?
Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton are the Ohio cities with the most sales development manager openings. Columbus leads because of its dense concentration of insurance, fintech, and technology employers, while Cleveland's industrial and healthcare sectors drive demand there, and Cincinnati's consumer goods and professional services firms account for a consistent share of postings.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in Ohio?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 43% of sales development manager openings tied to Ohio are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, phone-and-email nature of the role. Strategic oversight, coaching calls, and pipeline reviews are the functions most commonly handled fully remotely, while new-hire onboarding and team kick-offs more often require in-person attendance.
How can I get hired as a sales development manager in Ohio with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing an SDR or BDR role first, then building toward management. Large Ohio employers such as Nationwide and NCR Voyix run structured sales development programs that bring in candidates with no prior quota-carrying experience. Completing a Salesforce administrator credential or a recognized sales methodology certification helps. Adjacent roles like account coordinator, marketing operations specialist, or customer success associate are common lateral moves that lead into SDM tracks at Ohio technology and financial services companies.
Where can I find and apply to sales development manager jobs in Ohio?
You can find and apply to sales development manager jobs in Ohio on Migrate Mate, which lists current Ohio openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
