Sales Development Manager Jobs in Houston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales development manager job in Houston?
Focus your search on Houston's energy services, SaaS, and healthcare technology sectors, which generate the most consistent demand for sales development managers in the city. Employers in the Energy Corridor and Greenway Plaza corridor hire frequently, so targeting companies with regional headquarters there gives you an edge. Experience with enterprise or B2B sales cycles, familiarity with CRM platforms, and a network built through Houston-area industry events strengthens any application significantly.
Which companies hire sales development managers in Houston?
Houston sales development manager roles are posted by Comcast, AutoZone, and Westlake Corporation and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's employer mix skews heavily toward energy services firms, regional healthcare systems, and mid-market technology companies with Gulf Coast operations.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in Houston?
Yes, though many sales development manager roles require in-person client interaction, making full remote work less common than in purely analytical fields. About 39% of sales development manager openings tied to Houston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with flexibility most common in the prospecting and pipeline reporting portions of the role. Houston-based SaaS and technology employers tend to offer the most hybrid arrangements.
How can I get a sales development manager job in Houston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Houston is starting as a sales development representative at a mid-market technology or energy services company, then building toward a manager role by leading peer training or small team initiatives. Houston employers in the medical devices and oilfield services sectors regularly hire SDR team leads from within. Completing a structured sales methodology certification and showing measurable pipeline results from your SDR work are the two factors Houston hiring managers cite most.
Which industries hire the most sales development managers in Houston?
Most sales development manager openings in Houston sit in Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Manufacturing, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Houston's role as a global energy hub and a major medical center city means those two verticals alone sustain consistent year-round demand for sales development leadership.
