Sales Professional Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales professional in Texas?
Most sales professional roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree and demonstrated sales experience rather than a state-issued license, though pharmaceutical and medical device sales roles often expect candidates to complete manufacturer-specific product training and may prefer candidates with clinical backgrounds. For insurance or real estate sales, you will need a Texas Department of Insurance license or a Texas Real Estate Commission license, respectively. Starting in an inside sales or sales development role at a Texas-based company is the most direct entry path.
How much do sales professionals make in Texas?
Sales professionals in Texas earn a median of about $65,970 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,380 for the lowest 10% to over $137,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales professionals in Texas?
Employers hiring sales professionals in Texas right now include JPMorganChase, Champion Home Builders, and CarMax, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters, major energy firms, and fast-growing technology companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin corridors means consistent, high-volume sales hiring throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most sales professional jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most sales professional openings in Texas right now. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its dense concentration of corporate headquarters and technology employers, Houston's energy and healthcare industries drive strong demand there, and Austin's rapid tech sector growth has made it a major hiring hub for SaaS and software sales roles.
Are there remote sales professional jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 8% of sales professional openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how widely the profession has adopted virtual selling since enterprise buyers now expect digital-first engagement. Inside sales, SaaS account executive, and sales development representative roles are most likely to be fully remote, while outside sales and territory management positions typically require in-person client visits.
How can I get hired as a sales professional in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales or sales development representative role, which Texas technology and SaaS companies hire for without requiring prior sales experience. Large Texas employers like Dell Technologies and Oracle run structured early-career sales programs for recent graduates. Moving laterally from customer service, retail management, or account coordination roles at Texas-based companies is another proven path, and completing a HubSpot or Salesforce certification before applying gives candidates a concrete edge with hiring managers.
Where can I find and apply to sales professional jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to sales professional jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated in real time. Search by city, specialty, or seniority level to narrow results to roles that match your background, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
