Sales Professional Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales professional in Pennsylvania?
Most sales professional roles in Pennsylvania require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though some employers accept equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. Pennsylvania does not require a general state license to work in sales, but roles in specific sectors such as insurance require licensure through the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, and real estate sales roles require a Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission license. Building product knowledge and a record of quota achievement is the primary path to advancement.
Which companies hire sales professionals in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania sales professional roles are posted by Comcast, Mariner Finance, and Tom James Company and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and technology firms means sustained demand for both inside and field sales professionals across the state.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most sales professional jobs?
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Harrisburg have the most sales professional openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia dominates because of its dense cluster of healthcare, financial services, and insurance headquarters, while Pittsburgh's technology and manufacturing base drives strong B2B demand, and Allentown anchors the Lehigh Valley corridor where logistics and industrial companies maintain significant regional operations.
Are there remote sales professional jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 20% of sales professional openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many employers prioritize territory coverage over a fixed office location. Inside sales and account management roles are the most likely to be fully remote, while field sales and enterprise roles typically require in-person client meetings across the Pennsylvania territory.
How can I get hired as a sales professional in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, which large Pennsylvania employers such as Comcast, Independence Blue Cross, and regional staffing and financial services firms regularly post as new-hire positions. Completing a relevant degree or a short-term sales methodology course and earning an entry-level insurance license through the Pennsylvania Insurance Department can give candidates a competitive edge. Lateral moves from customer service, retail management, or account coordination roles at Pennsylvania employers are common and well-regarded.
Where can I find and apply to sales professional jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to sales professional jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings to find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
