The Maids of San Diego is looking for a motivated, organized, and tech-savvy Junior Sales Associate to support our growing commercial business.
This is a hands-on opportunity for a college student, recent graduate, or early-career candidate who wants practical experience in sales, business development, marketing, and business operations.
No extensive sales experience is required. We're looking for someone who is comfortable talking to people, learns technology quickly, follows through, and is interested in using new tools—including AI—to work smarter and help grow a business.
What You'll Do
- Call and follow up with new and existing sales leads.
- Ask basic qualifying questions and schedule appointments.
- Keep our CRM accurate with notes, lead status, and follow-up tasks.
- Help prepare quotes and proposals using our established process.
- Assist with general sales and administrative tasks as needed.
- Support marketing activities, including simple social media posts and content.
- Use AI tools to help create, improve, and repurpose marketing content and support sales activities.
- Help organize customer, sales, and marketing information.
A meaningful part of this role involves making phone calls and following up with prospects, so you should be comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations.
Who We're Looking For
- Tech-savvy and quick to learn new software, apps, CRM systems, and digital tools.
- Comfortable using or interested in learning AI tools such as ChatGPT and other AI-powered marketing/productivity tools.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets, email, calendars, and social media.
- Confident, friendly, and professional on the phone.
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to follow a process and work independently after training.
- Curious, resourceful, and interested in learning how technology and AI can improve sales and marketing.
Prior experience experimenting with AI is preferred but not required. This can include school projects, internships, freelance work, personal projects, social media/content creation, or simply using AI tools to solve real problems. We care more about what you've tried and learned than having formal AI credentials.
What You'll Gain
You'll get hands-on experience working with real prospects and customers while learning how leads move from initial contact to appointments, quotes, and new business.
You'll also gain practical experience with CRM systems, AI tools, marketing, sales, and the day-to-day operations of a growing local business.
Schedule
Part-time, weekday mornings. This may be a great fit for a college student with afternoon or evening classes. Exact hours can be discussed based on availability.

Business Development Associate Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development associate in California?
A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or economics is the most common starting point for business development associate roles in California. No state-issued license is required for the role itself. California employers, particularly in technology and life sciences, strongly favor candidates who can demonstrate CRM proficiency, familiarity with outbound prospecting methods, and some exposure to B2B sales environments through internships, coursework, or adjacent roles.
Which companies hire business development associates in California?
Employers hiring business development associates in California right now include Resolv.Global, Northern California Small Business Development Center, and New York Life, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's concentration of enterprise technology firms, healthcare systems, and venture-backed startups means consistent year-round demand for this role across multiple industries.
Which California cities have the most business development associate jobs?
San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Jose have the most business development associate openings in California. San Francisco leads because of its density of enterprise SaaS and fintech headquarters, Los Angeles draws volume from media, healthcare, and consumer technology employers, and San Diego's strength in biotech and defense generates steady demand for business development talent at companies operating in regulated industries.
Are there remote business development associate jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business development associate work is largely phone, email, and CRM-based and does not require a fixed physical location. About 82% of business development associate openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the tech-forward nature of many California employers. The most remote-friendly sub-roles are outbound prospecting, partnership development, and account research, where collaboration is primarily digital.
How can I get hired as a business development associate in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to business development representative or sales development representative roles, which large California technology employers such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Adobe treat as structured pipelines into associate-level positions. University recruiting programs at California State University campuses and UC schools feed directly into these entry cohorts. A completed internship in sales, account management, or customer success, combined with documented CRM experience, significantly strengthens a no-experience application in this market.
Where can I find and apply to business development associate jobs in California?
You can find and apply to business development associate jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Search for roles that fit your experience level and target city, then apply directly to the ones that match. No profile creation is needed to view and apply to the listings available on the platform.
