Your New Role…
CNN is seeking an exceptional and strategic Associate Manager of Business Development responsible for supporting CNN’s Commerce team by growing affiliate revenue through content and linking optimizations, new affiliate solutions, and overseeing key merchant relationships. Revenue from affiliate transactions is the primary monetization vehicle of CNN Underscored, and we are looking to grow this revenue for our 2,000+ existing merchant partners, as well as expand the presence of affiliate through new verticals and unique partnership opportunities.
Outside of working with merchant partners, the Associate Manager of Business Development will collaborate with Business and Editorial team members to identify new monetization opportunities, operationalize relevant strategies, and analyze performance for continued growth through both Organic and Paid channels. They will also work closely with Product, Engineering, and Revenue Insights on new features and incremental earnings opportunities.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Partner Management: Oversee a portfolio of priority merchants to nurture and grow affiliate earnings with through performance incentives, commission negotiations, and strategic initiatives.
Content & Linking Optimization: Maximize affiliate revenue from content by implementing high-yield partner links, optimizing content to increase click through rate and conversion rate, and oversee network migrations to mitigate revenue loss.
Performance Analysis: Analyze merchant and article-level performance to identify alternative monetization tactics that improve core performance metrics through diverse attribution and partner diversification strategies.
Cross Collaboration: Work with Business Development, Editorial, Product and Analytics stakeholders to identify, analyze, and develop new business and product solutions that increase user engagement and revenue earnings.
New Revenue: Assist Business Development team in sourcing, identifying and developing new opportunities to create revenue on and off platform through Sponsorships, Paid Media, and other digitally driven concepts.
Qualifications & Experience…
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, data science, or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in digital marketing, analytics, or related field.
Experience working with internal and external stakeholders to develop new concepts, strategies, and processes that drive revenue growth.
A fundamental understanding of affiliate revenue KPIs such as, earnings-per-click, cost-per-action, revenue-per-impression, click-through rate, and conversion rate.
Affiliate marketing experience and familiarity with affiliate network reporting platforms is preferred.
The ideal candidate is organized, has strong analytical skills, the ability to problem solve, and can effectively communicate informative findings to others.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $77,000.00 - $143,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
