Client Executive Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a client executive in California?
Most client executives in California enter through a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications, followed by several years in account management, sales, or customer success. California has no state-issued license required for the role, so employers focus on experience and results. A background in a major California industry, such as technology, healthcare, or finance, and proficiency with enterprise CRM tools are the most consistent hiring requirements.
How much do client executives make in California?
Client executives in California earn a median of about $80,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,240 for the lowest 10% to over $168,720 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire client executives in California?
Employers hiring client executives in California right now include Fidelity Investments, Hitachi Global Air Power Us, LLC (F/K/A Sullair Llc), and Kforce, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters and large enterprise technology firms makes it one of the most active states for this role year-round.
Which California cities have the most client executive jobs?
San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles have the most client executive openings in California. San Francisco leads because of its density of enterprise software and SaaS companies, Los Angeles draws demand from media, entertainment, and professional services firms, and San Diego's life sciences and defense technology sectors support a steady concentration of account-level roles.
Are there remote client executive jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 56% of client executive openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of the role centers on relationship management, digital communication, and virtual presentations rather than on-site work. Strategic and enterprise accounts roles are the most likely to offer full remote arrangements.
How can I get hired as a client executive in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a customer success associate or account coordinator role at a California technology or healthcare company, where you build relationship management skills before moving into a client executive title. Large California employers such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Anthem run structured associate programs and rotational tracks that develop junior candidates. A relevant degree, a CRM certification, and a portfolio of client-facing projects give early-career candidates a measurable edge.
Where can I find and apply to client executive jobs in California?
You can find and apply to client executive jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the ones that match.
