Entry Level Field Service Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level field service specialist job?
Focus on any hands-on technical experience you have, whether that is an internship, a vocational program, coursework involving equipment or systems, or personal projects where you diagnosed and fixed something. Employers at this level look for candidates who can follow technical documentation, communicate clearly with customers, and learn new tools quickly. A certification in a relevant area, such as HVAC, electrical systems, or IT hardware, can also give you a real edge over candidates with no credentials.
Which companies hire entry level field service specialists?
Companies hiring entry level field service specialists right now include TDS Telecom, Wabtec, and City Facilities Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of employers, including medical device manufacturers, industrial equipment distributors, managed service providers, and utility contractors that actively recruit junior technicians to grow into senior field roles.
Are there remote entry level field service specialist jobs?
Yes, though most field service work is inherently on-site, a share of postings do include remote or hybrid components such as remote diagnostics, technical support, or administrative coordination. About 0% of entry level field service specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who need some schedule flexibility should filter for those postings specifically when searching current listings.
Are these new grad field service specialist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior field service specialist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work in place of full-time history, or lists a degree or technical certification as the primary qualification rather than years on the job. Filtering for junior or new grad language in the job title or description is the quickest way to identify those openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level field service specialists?
Entry Level field service specialist roles concentrate in Telecommunications, Manufacturing, and Aerospace & Defense, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because they depend on large, distributed fleets of equipment or systems that require regular installation, maintenance, and repair, creating a steady pipeline of junior technician openings for candidates who are just starting out.
