Finance Administrator Jobs in Kansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance administrator in Kansas?
Most finance administrator roles in Kansas require a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration from an accredited institution. Kansas does not mandate a state-issued license for the title itself, but many employers prefer or require candidates who hold or are working toward a Certified Public Accountant credential through the Kansas Board of Accountancy. Strong candidates also build practical experience through internships at Kansas government agencies, hospital systems, or agricultural cooperatives before applying.
Which companies hire finance administrators in Kansas?
Companies currently hiring finance administrators in Kansas include Edward Jones, The University of Kansas Health System, and Garmin, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kansas's mix of healthcare networks, utility companies, and state government agencies creates ongoing demand for finance administrators with public-sector and regulated-industry experience.
Which Kansas cities have the most finance administrator jobs?
Wichita, Kansas City, and Garden City account for the most finance administrator openings in Kansas. Wichita leads because of its concentration of aerospace manufacturers, hospital systems, and regional corporate headquarters, while Kansas City draws volume from cross-border financial services firms and logistics companies, and Topeka generates openings through state government agencies and insurance carriers headquartered there.
Are there remote finance administrator jobs in Kansas?
Yes, and more than many operational roles, since finance administration is largely desk and systems based. About 44% of finance administrator openings tied to Kansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's compatibility with digital accounting platforms and cloud-based ERP tools. Budget reporting, accounts payable processing, and grant tracking are the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a finance administrator in Kansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an accounts payable or billing coordinator role, which large Kansas employers such as hospital networks and state agencies regularly post for candidates with an associate or bachelor's degree and no prior finance title. Community colleges like Johnson County Community College and Wichita State offer accounting certificate programs that signal readiness to local hiring managers. Building proficiency in QuickBooks or a comparable ERP system before applying gives candidates without experience a concrete, demonstrable edge.
Where can I find and apply to finance administrator jobs in Kansas?
You can find and apply to finance administrator jobs in Kansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Kansas openings from employers across Wichita, Kansas City, Topeka, and beyond. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
