Given LPL’s continued growth and evolving business needs, the scope of this role may evolve over time.
Why This Role Matters:
Advisor real estate projects are often closely tied to business milestones, growth initiatives, and organizational change. - Inform and develop real estate scope inputs used to establish project and deal budgets.
- Track project costs against approved budgets, review vendor proposals and invoices for scope and budget alignment, and obtain required approvals for scope changes or spend exceeding approved budgets.
- Serve as the project management point of coordination for real estate workstreams, partnering with internal teams while recognizing that other functional owners may directly manage specific components of projects.
- Partner closely with Corporate Real Estate teammates and internal stakeholders, including Technology, Marketing, Corporate Development, Integrations, and other supporting teams, to align scope, timing, responsibilities, and dependencies.
- Coordinate with landlords, external vendors, architects, furniture partners, and service providers to execute approved scope in accordance with LPL standards and processes.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including scope, schedules, budgets, approvals, and closeout materials.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders regarding project status, risks, budget considerations, and upcoming activities.
- Support additional advisor real estate initiatives and related responsibilities as needed in response to evolving business priorities, portfolio growth, or changes in organizational needs.

Financial Project Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a financial project manager in California?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration followed by field experience managing financial deliverables on cross-functional projects. California does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers widely expect a PMP credential from the Project Management Institute or a CPA license from the California Board of Accountancy for finance-heavy positions. Building experience in budgeting, forecasting, or financial systems implementations opens the clearest route.
How much do financial project managers make in California?
Financial project managers in California earn a median of about $120,910 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,180 for the lowest 10% to over $188,560 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire financial project managers in California?
Employers hiring financial project managers in California right now include DoorDash, Edelman Financial Engines, and KPMG, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters, large healthcare systems, and major financial institutions means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than a single sector.
Which California cities have the most financial project manager jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Santa Clara have the most financial project manager openings in California. Los Angeles generates volume through entertainment, real estate, and large corporate headquarters, while San Francisco and San Jose are driven by the concentration of technology companies, venture-backed firms, and major financial services operations in the Bay Area.
Are there remote financial project manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 31% of financial project manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the role. The work most commonly done remotely includes financial modeling, budget reporting, and systems implementation coordination, while stakeholder-intensive phases often call for on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a financial project manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a junior financial analyst or project coordinator role at a large California employer such as a major health system, technology firm, or public utility, where internal mobility into project management is common. Kaiser Permanente, the University of California system, and large construction and infrastructure firms run rotational or associate programs that expose early-career candidates to project finance work. Earning a CAPM certification from the Project Management Institute or passing the CPA exam through the California Board of Accountancy signals readiness and gives candidates a concrete edge over peers without credentials.
Where can I find and apply to financial project manager jobs in California?
