About Hypha
Hypha is an AI-native platform transforming asset management across the full lifecycle—acquisition, management, and exit. Focused on healthcare facilities and multifamily real estate, we're revolutionizing the industry through three key pillars:
- Observability: Providing real-time visibility into asset performance, deal progress, and market conditions for all stakeholders
- Intelligence: Enabling AI-driven multidimensional optimization with risk scores, tax strategies, and benchmarking
- Orchestration: Creating seamless workflows and a single source of truth to eliminate inefficiencies
Role Overview
As a Senior / Staff Fullstack Product Engineer at Hypha, you’ll own and build the features that users interact with every day. This includes systems like data visualization, entity management, search, dashboards, and document workflows. You’ll work closely with product and design to turn complex problems into clear, intuitive product experiences. This role sits at the intersection of frontend, backend, and product thinking. You’ll work across the full stack, leading the design and delivery of features end-to-end while helping shape how the product evolves. The focus is not just writing code, but understanding user problems deeply, making strong product and technical tradeoffs, and translating them into thoughtful, well-designed solutions. This role is scoped for senior and staff-level engineers who can operate with high autonomy, own complex product systems, and help define engineering standards as Hypha scales. Compensation will be determined based on experience, technical depth, and scope of ownership.
Core Competencies
- Architect and ship full-stack product systems across React, Next.js, APIs, and PostgreSQL-backed services
- Own features from concept through production, including technical design, implementation, edge cases, and product polish
- Build scalable, maintainable systems across the frontend and backend that support complex workflows and data-rich experiences
- Partner closely with product and design to define scope, challenge assumptions, and ship iteratively with strong judgment
- Make sound decisions around application architecture, state management, data modeling, and backend design
- Improve engineering quality through code review, better abstractions, and stronger product engineering patterns
- Provide technical leadership through design reviews, implementation guidance, and mentorship of other engineers
Ideal Candidate
- 7+ years of full-stack or software engineering experience, with meaningful time spent owning product systems in production
- Full-stack fluency — You’re productive across frontend (React/Next.js) and backend (Node.js/TypeScript/PostgreSQL), and can lead work across the stack without heavy dependency on others. You understand the tradeoffs involved in building and scaling product systems over time.
- Strong product sense — You think about why a feature exists, not just how to build it. You ask good questions, push back when needed, and make thoughtful product and engineering tradeoffs in service of the user experience.
- Systems and architecture judgment — You can reason about application structure, maintainability, performance, data flow, and backend design. You are comfortable making technical decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
- Technical leadership — You help raise the quality bar through architecture decisions, code quality, design feedback, and mentorship of other engineers. You can lead complex initiatives and improve how the team builds product over time.
- Quality bar — You think about edge cases, loading states, error handling, responsiveness, and interaction design. You ship features that feel complete and hold a high standard for polish.
- Clear communication — You can articulate tradeoffs, explain your approach, and collaborate effectively with design, product, and other engineers. You help raise the quality of decisions around you.
- AI-fluent — You use AI coding tools daily and know how to wield them effectively as a multiplier on top of strong fundamentals.
What Sets You Apart
- Experience owning large product surfaces or critical user workflows in production
- Experience building data-heavy interfaces such as tables, dashboards, charts, and search workflows
- Experience with Supabase, Vercel, or similar modern deployment and database platforms
- Experience making architecture decisions across both frontend and backend in fast-moving product environments
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering standards across a team
- Early-stage startup experience, especially in environments requiring fast iteration and high ownership
- Bachelor’s degree minimum

Full stack product engineering has no state-issued license in New York, so hiring is based on demonstrated technical ability and education. Most New York employers expect a computer science or related degree, or a strong portfolio built through bootcamps like those offered by NYC-area programs at Flatiron School or General Assembly. From there, candidates apply directly to junior or associate engineer roles at New York product companies, where hands-on experience and shipped code matter most.
How much do full stack product engineers make in New York?
Full stack product engineers in New York earn a median of about $166,180 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $97,430 for the lowest 10% to over $224,590 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.

Employers hiring full stack product engineers in New York right now include Databricks, Rippling, and Stepful, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. New York's dense concentration of fintech, media, and enterprise software companies means hiring stays active across both large organizations and well-funded startups throughout the year.
Which New York cities have the most full stack product engineer jobs?
New York, New York City, and Buffalo have the most full stack product engineer openings in New York. New York City dominates because it is home to the largest cluster of product-led technology companies, fintech firms, and media organizations in the state, while surrounding areas like Brooklyn and certain suburbs reflect the distributed engineering teams and remote-optional roles that major NYC employers have adopted.
Are there remote full stack product engineer jobs in New York?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 25% of full stack product engineer openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how broadly this work can be done outside a physical office. The most remote-friendly parts of the role tend to be independent feature development and code review, while roles embedded in early-stage product teams often require some in-person collaboration in New York City.
How can I get hired as a full stack product engineer in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to associate or junior engineer roles at New York product companies after completing a structured program such as those offered by General Assembly or Flatiron School, both of which have New York campuses and employer partnerships. Large New York employers like Conde Nast, Viacom, and Bloomberg run internship and new-grad pipelines that hire directly from these programs. A portfolio with two or three shipped projects and a GitHub history of consistent commits gives candidates a clear edge over applicants without one.
