Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Concrete Finisher
Document your trade credentials before applying
Gather journeyman certificates, union cards, apprenticeship completion records, and any state licensing paperwork now. PERM audits frequently request proof of the foreign worker's qualifications, and gaps in documentation stall the entire labor certification process.
Target union contractors with E-Verify enrollment
Large unionized concrete contractors regularly sponsor EB-3 petitions because apprenticeship pipelines create predictable labor needs. E-Verify enrollment signals an employer already handles federal compliance work, which correlates with willingness to take on PERM filings.
Search verified green card sponsors on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Concrete Finisher roles by employers with active green card sponsorship history. This saves weeks of cold outreach to contractors who've never filed a PERM petition and aren't equipped to start one.
Benchmark your wage against OFLC prevailing wage data
DOL requires your offered wage to meet or exceed the prevailing wage for your job zone and county. Run the OFLC Wage Search before negotiating your offer so you can confirm compliance and avoid a PERM denial tied to an underpayment finding.
Ask employers about their PERM attorney relationship upfront
Concrete finishing PERM cases require a supervised recruitment period before DOL submission. Contractors without an existing immigration attorney relationship will lose months finding one. Confirm your prospective employer has legal counsel in place before accepting an offer contingent on sponsorship.
Understand how your O*NET classification affects EB-3 eligibility
USCIS maps Concrete Finisher duties to specific O*NET codes when evaluating whether your role qualifies as a skilled worker under EB-3. If your day-to-day duties include decorative finishing or polished concrete work, ensure your job description reflects the full O*NET skill set to avoid a Request for Evidence.

Find Concrete Finisher JobsConcrete Finisher Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Concrete Finisher role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Concrete Finisher positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, since the role typically requires at least two years of training or experience rather than an advanced degree. EB-2 eligibility can apply if the role involves specialized supervisory or engineering-adjacent duties supported by a bachelor's degree or higher, but those cases are uncommon in standard finishing work.
How is green card sponsorship different from H-1B for Concrete Finishers?
H-1B requires a specialty occupation degree nexus that concrete finishing rarely satisfies, making most finishers ineligible for that route. EB-3 green card sponsorship has no annual lottery and leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification and I-140 processing typically run 18 to 36 months before you reach the adjustment of status stage.
What does the PERM process require from a Concrete Finisher applicant?
The employer drives most of the PERM process, but you'll need to provide documentation confirming you meet the minimum qualifications listed in the job description. That typically means apprenticeship completion records, journeyman certification, or verified years of experience. DOL may audit these materials, so having organized, employer-verifiable records before the process starts speeds things up considerably.
How do I find employers who will sponsor a green card for this role?
Search for Concrete Finisher positions through Migrate Mate, which surfaces employers with documented green card sponsorship activity. General job boards rarely filter by PERM history, so you can spend weeks contacting contractors who have never filed a petition. Focusing on union shops, large commercial contractors, and infrastructure firms increases your odds of finding an employer already set up for EB-3 sponsorship.
Can I change jobs after my employer files the PERM petition?
Switching employers after PERM is filed but before your I-140 is approved generally requires starting the process over with the new employer. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date is more than 180 days old, portability rules under AC21 allow you to move to a same or similar role without losing your place in line, provided your new position matches your approved petition's job duties.
