Green Card Digital Designer Jobs
Digital Designer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field. Employers initiate PERM labor certification through DOL before filing the I-140 petition, making sponsorship a multi-step process that leads to permanent residency.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Digital Designer
Match your portfolio to PERM job requirements
PERM requires your employer to define the job's minimum qualifications before filing. Make sure your portfolio and resume reflect those exact requirements, because USCIS will scrutinize whether your credentials genuinely meet the stated role.
Verify the prevailing wage tier before accepting
Your offer must meet the DOL prevailing wage for your specific SOC code and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check whether the salary your employer proposes clears the required wage level before you sign anything.
Target studios with active I-140 filing history
Design agencies and in-house creative teams at larger companies are far more likely to have completed PERM sponsorship before. Search Migrate Mate to filter Digital Designer roles by employers with documented green card filing history.
Understand that EB-3 has no annual lottery
Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 sponsorship isn't subject to a random selection lottery. Your employer files when ready, and your place in the queue is set by your priority date, not chance, which makes timeline planning more predictable.
Get your foreign degree credential-evaluated early
PERM job descriptions typically specify a U.S. bachelor's degree equivalent. If your design degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation completed before your employer finalizes the PERM filing to avoid delays.
Ask about concurrent I-485 filing eligibility
If your priority date is current when the I-140 is approved, your employer can file the I-140 and your adjustment of status application at the same time, shortening the overall wait before you receive your green card.
Green Card Digital Designer: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Digital Designer roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Digital Designer positions qualify under EB-3, which covers professionals in roles requiring a bachelor's degree. EB-2 applies when the position genuinely requires an advanced degree or when a candidate pursues a National Interest Waiver self-petition. In practice, employers sponsoring designers almost always file under EB-3, since the role's standard education requirement aligns with that category.
How is green card sponsorship different from H-1B for a Digital Designer?
H-1B is a temporary status that must be renewed and is subject to an annual lottery cap, while EB-3 green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency and has no lottery. The trade-off is time: PERM labor certification alone can take six months to over a year before the I-140 petition is even filed, making green card sponsorship a longer but more durable path.
What does the PERM process require from a Digital Designer candidate specifically?
Your credentials must match the minimum qualifications your employer lists on the PERM application. For design roles, that typically means a bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a closely related field, plus any specialized software skills the job genuinely requires. Your employer must also document that no qualified U.S. workers were available at the time of recruitment.
How can I find Digital Designer jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you search Digital Designer roles filtered by employers with green card sponsorship history, so you're not guessing which studios or in-house teams have actually filed PERM applications before. Focusing on these employers saves months of conversations with hiring managers who aren't familiar with the sponsorship process.
Can I switch employers while my green card application is in progress?
Once your I-140 is approved and you've been in adjustment of status for 180 days, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar role without restarting the process. For Digital Designers, a role at a different studio or agency in a comparable creative capacity would generally qualify, but confirming the similarity with an immigration attorney before switching is advisable.
