Green Card Director Of Partnerships Jobs
Director of Partnerships roles at U.S. companies can qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process. Employers document that no qualified U.S. worker is available before filing an I-140 petition on your behalf, leading to permanent residency rather than a temporary work authorization tied to a single employer.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Director Of Partnerships
Translate your credentials for PERM documentation
Your offer letter, job description, and degree must align precisely with the PERM-defined minimum requirements. If your role spans business development and technical partnerships, work with your employer to frame requirements around a specific field, not a catch-all skill set.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Use the DOL's OFLC Wage Search data to find companies that have previously filed PERM applications for business development or partnerships roles. Prior filings signal that the employer understands the process and has internal HR capacity to sponsor again.
Understand the EB-2 advanced-degree requirement for this role
EB-2 requires a U.S. master's degree or foreign equivalent, or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience. Director of Partnerships roles often satisfy this, but your employer's PERM job description must explicitly require that level, not merely prefer it.
Find green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Search Director of Partnerships roles on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for employers with EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history. This cuts the research stage significantly compared to cold-applying and asking about sponsorship after an offer.
Negotiate sponsorship initiation timing before accepting an offer
PERM processing at DOL currently runs many months before the I-140 even reaches USCIS. Agreeing upfront on when your employer will file, and whether premium processing applies to the I-140, protects your timeline and avoids ambiguity after you start.
Verify the prevailing wage category matches your actual seniority
PERM filings use DOL wage levels from Level I through Level IV. A Director of Partnerships title should typically map to Level III or IV. A mismatch between your compensation and the certified wage level can create problems at the I-140 and adjustment of status stages.
Green Card Director Of Partnerships: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Director of Partnerships role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Director of Partnerships positions qualify for EB-2 if the role requires a master's degree or equivalent advanced credentials, or EB-3 if it requires a bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience. The determining factor is how your employer writes the PERM job description, specifically whether the educational and experience requirements meet the threshold for the chosen category.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
An H-1B visa is a temporary work visa with a three-year initial period and subject to the annual lottery for most applicants. Green card sponsorship through PERM and an I-140 petition is a path to permanent residency with no annual cap at the EB-3 level for many countries. The tradeoff is time: PERM labor certification adds months to the overall timeline, but the result is a permanent status rather than a renewable temporary one.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for a Director of Partnerships position?
Your employer files a PERM application with DOL to certify that no qualified U.S. worker was available for the role. This requires running a mandatory recruitment campaign, documenting rejections of U.S. applicants, and submitting the application through the PERM system. The job description filed with DOL locks in the minimum requirements, so it must accurately reflect the actual role rather than inflating or understating qualifications.
How do I find Director of Partnerships jobs where the employer is already open to green card sponsorship?
Most job postings don't advertise PERM sponsorship explicitly, which makes it hard to know before applying. Migrate Mate surfaces Director of Partnerships roles filtered by employers with EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on companies that have already demonstrated they'll sponsor. This avoids the awkward conversation about sponsorship late in a hiring process.
Can I change employers after my employer files a PERM application for me?
Changing employers resets the PERM process because labor certification is tied to a specific employer and job. Once your I-140 petition is approved and you've been waiting more than 180 days, portability rules under AC21 let you transfer the approved I-140 to a new employer in the same or similar occupational category without losing your priority date. For Director of Partnerships roles, that generally means a comparable business development or strategic partnerships function.
