Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Head Of Sales
Document your degree's U.S. equivalency early
PERM requires your credentials to match the job's stated minimum requirements. If your business degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before you start applying, so no offer stalls at the I-140 stage.
Target companies with PERM filing history
Not every employer sponsoring H-1Bs will file PERM for a Head of Sales role. Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify companies that have recently certified managerial or sales leadership positions, then prioritize those in your outreach.
Find green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Head of Sales openings by employers with active EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history. This cuts the research time that comes with manually cross-referencing PERM disclosure files against open job listings.
Clarify the EB category before accepting an offer
Ask whether the employer intends to file under EB-2 or EB-3. If the role requires an advanced degree or you have ten or more years of progressive sales leadership, EB-2 shortens your priority date wait in most countries. Get this confirmed in writing before PERM begins.
Understand how PERM recruitment timing affects you
DOL requires employers to complete a supervised recruitment period before PERM can be filed. This process typically takes six to twelve months from job posting to certified LCA. Knowing this timeline helps you plan your current work authorization around the green card process.
Verify the prevailing wage before negotiating salary
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your job title and location, certified through OFLC Wage Search. Check the wage level yourself before negotiating, as a salary below Level II or III for a Head of Sales role can trigger a PERM audit.
Green Card Head Of Sales: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Head of Sales role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Head of Sales positions typically qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers when the role requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. If the position requires an advanced degree or you bring a master's degree plus substantial leadership experience, your employer may file under EB-2 instead. The PERM labor certification process applies to both categories.
How does green card sponsorship for a Head of Sales differ from H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant status with a three-year initial period and an annual lottery cap. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 is permanent and has no lottery. At the EB-3 level, most countries outside India and China face no significant priority date backlog, meaning adjustment of status can move faster than many candidates expect.
How long does the PERM process take for a Head of Sales position?
DOL requires employers to complete a supervised recruitment period, run mandatory advertisements, and certify there are no qualified U.S. workers available. From start to certified PERM, the full process typically runs six to eighteen months, depending on audit activity and DOL processing times. Your employer's immigration counsel manages the filing, but you should track the priority date once your I-140 is approved.
Where can I find Head of Sales jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by employers with EB-2 and EB-3 filing history and see Head of Sales openings from companies that have already navigated the PERM process for similar roles. This is faster than scanning general job boards where sponsorship willingness is rarely stated upfront.
Can my employer start PERM while I'm on H-1B status?
Yes, and this is the most common path. Employers can file PERM concurrently with an active H-1B, and USCIS allows H-1B extensions beyond the standard six-year limit once an I-140 is approved and the priority date is within one year. Starting PERM early protects your ability to stay in status while the green card moves forward.
